FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — State health officials announced Friday that a person who attended an Asbury University revival service has a confirmed case of measles.
Officials say the person is a Jessamine County resident and attended the revival on February 18. No other information will be given due to privacy concerns.
“Anyone who attended the revival on Feb. 18 may have been exposed to measles,” said Dr. Steven Stack, commissioner of the Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH). “Attendees who are unvaccinated are encouraged to quarantine for 21 days and to seek immunization with the measles vaccine, which is safe and effective.”

Why, YES! No other coverage by the mainstream media of these events, other than to show concern that the events are ‘disease spreaders???’ Gotta stop these Christian revivals somehow! How utterly transparent their motives are.
I didn’t bother to look-up the data because the incidence of deaths (when I was a kid) was apparently so insignificant as to not raise alarm among the 150 million, or so, population of 1950s America!

Yes, everyone who gets the measles dies. I’m the only one who survived. Oh, and my sisters, brother.....My brother, aged 65, is going to die any day now from the mumps he got as a child.

My brother at age 12 developed meningoencephalitis as a result of the Mumps. He seemed to be getting over the Mumps but then fell ill again with a high fever, lethargy and confusion. He fell into a coma for several days and was not expected to live. A priest was even called to administer Last Rites.
He did recover but spent nearly 2 months in the hospital and undergoing intensive physical therapy as he lost all coordination and was unable to walk, speak clearly or even feed himself for a time. He also lost nearly half his body weight.
Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. I had measles, and chickenpox...never got mumps. Every generation has it’s challenges.

P.s. as a kid, some of us didn’t mind getting these to miss school.
The problem is those pesky Christians gathering together using those hideous rights called free association and freedom of religion. It’s their sneaky way of getting together and saying bad things about Biden and the government. They are only using God as an excuse to plan an insurrection. We know disease will put the fear of God (trite saying intended) into those people so this won’t happen again. (So a leftist would say).

You may want to revisits your faith’s beliefs. You have had a recent Pope and current Catholicism does not teach that only Catholics can find salvation. Such mockery as you exhibit does not serve the spirit of Christ.

I am nearly 80 and I had all the above mentioned diseases as a kid. I just don’t know how I survived. Maybe I have good genes?
This is a nothing burger. Most people have had the measles vaccine, so an outbreak would not happen. The small minority of people there who did not get the vaccine probably number less than five. Its just media pumping up the infectious disease scare once again.

I suggest you reread the string you just referenced, you began it all mocking a revival, took umbrage when your mockery was pointed out, then claimed a near cultish level of righteousness as being in the only one true faith in quite an arrogant manner.
Now you would feign something of a victim status implying people do not bother to understand an issue, leading to ill posted negative messages. Now you assert others were being self righteous when in fact you tossed out the “I am in the only true religion” statement.

My wife is a Nurse ( like i believe you claim your daughter to be, certified ICU, Peds , Orth, Med Surg, to name a few and now working Recovery and Addiction. She has decades in High acuity hospitals and witnessed an attempt to claim covid to get drugs for free for a patient. She saw first hand the fact hospitals were financially incentivized to claim covid deaths even if the cause of death was anything else, all they needed to have was covid when they died, the real cuase did not matter. Her personal experiences along with several Drs we know have shown us that the vaccine and covid has been nothing like how the government nor people like you claim!

Also, that you consider calling a 9th grader a nurse slander, I apologize as well, not for what you consider but for myself mistakenly saying so. I did not mean to call any youth a Nurse and accept that it is wrong to label any as such.
