A fire at New Zealand’s largest egg producer has killed about 75,000 hens, sparking fears that a national egg shortage could worsen.
The fire at a Zeagold farm broke out on Monday morning and had “taken better part of the day to contain”, a spokesperson for the company said. Twelve workers who were on site were “unharmed but very distressed”, the spokesperson said. Work was under way to assess how many hens had died, but Zeagold estimated it to be about 75,000.
The fire may have ripple effects beyond the immediate demise of the hens, with concerns it may worsen a national scarcity of eggs.
Zeagold’s spokesperson said it was still too early to say how much of an effect the fire would have on the overall supply chain, saying: “There will be some impact obviously – it’s not a great thing to happen in the middle of a shortage.”

Is there a trend?
It’s really difficult to not be a conspiracy theorist these days based on the loss of food production facilities the past couple of years.
Why can’t fires break out at tofu plants or broccoli plants instead?
Hopefully htouhg if the fires are intentional, the perps will be rounded up and have the book thrown at them for endanger society, and they get labeled as domestic terrorists and treated as such. Parents verbally taking a stand agaisnt crt are not domestic terrorists- however, people who are intentionally setting fires and destroying businesses etc are domestic terrorists
Not a fire but certainly related.
A friend that has about 30 chickens, many of which are egg producers noticed a marked drop in egg production recently.....and then he found this:

100k killed in a fire in the US just last week.
Amazing how co-inky-dinky.
Same with so many food processing facilities burning down.
If they can’t kill you with the jab, they’ll starve you off the planet. One way or another, you’re exiting.
What is the new feed formulation, indeed. And did any of it come from China? I remember the poison pet food years ago.
“Hopefully if the fires are intentional, the perps will be rounded up and have the book thrown at them for endanger society, and they get labeled as domestic terrorists and treated as such”
They’re doing this with the backing of their respective compromised government officials. There is no book to throw at them.
I wish these arsonists would get caught and say who ordered them to do it.
Now that depends. Once useful idiots have done there part, they tend to be dealt with.
No. It’s not a trend.
It’s pure conicidence.
Nobody is attacking our food supply.
It’s not terrorism.

Hail George! Hail Klaus! Hail VICTORY!
And Eat Ze Bugs!
Yes a “filler” (Melamine which is a type of plastic) that came from china was an ingredient in dog and cat pet food that played a large part in shortening the life of 2 of my cats.
Many people lost pets because of that.
We joined a class action lawsuit that recovered around 80% of the thousands we spent on vet bills, but ultimately we lost them both.
eggsactly...
If it’s all the same to you, I’d rather have ze chickens eat ze bugs ...
It makes better chickens.
This is the enemy (WEF) committing acts of terrorism, and the media's complete lack of curiosity is deafening.
A recent alteration to the popular “Producer’s Pride” chicken feed sold by Tractor Supply has caused chickens to stop laying eggs, according to multiple farmer sources. The reduction in egg production has been reported to be much greater than the normal decrease seen during the winter months, with some farmers reporting that their hens are laying zero eggs.
The cause of the reduction in egg production is still unknown, but some suggest that the feed’s new formulation may have a lower protein content. This news comes at a time when chicken and egg prices have reached historic highs, driven in part by Avian Flu and inflation under the Brandon Administration.
*******
When I grew up during the mid-1900s my dad had a small egg
producing project. 400 or so layers and it was a daily act as they
needed food, water, eggs gathered, cleaned/stored,etc. But we
grew great gardens with all the fertilizer.
Another accident. 🙄
