Chinese drama about a Michelin chef losing his sense of taste and his sight, who has an obsession against using sugar in cooking.
“Chinese drama”
One question:
WHY???
Because I’m old enough to remember when TV had moral values. I just gave up on cable TV when I found I was getting upset by their political bents in places that bias was totally unnecessary. China and Korea are way behind us in having their programming contaminated by Hollywood. It’s rather like you’re watching good TV from early days that has the production quality of the best of today. Yes, it’s a pain to read subtitles, and sometimes my eyes ache. But the pleasure of seeing incredible creative writing makes up for it all. I had a couple agented scripts in Hollywood, so I care a LOT about plots and character development and uniqueness. I’m thrilled by Chinese and Korean dramas when I thought my TV days were over.

didn’t see that coming...
Husband thought the song wouldn’t work for this, but I really think it does. The drama is almost an art film of images to soft music. So I’d often try their sequences, then use a razor cut to shorten the clips to the harder beat. TOTALLY different feel than the drama. But what other story could you ever do to NO SUGAR TONIGHT, except maybe ads for Jenny Craig?
Alrighty then. /s
Michelin chef? Maybe it’s time to re-Tire.
Great minds and all that. They use the same joke in the drama.
PING for food music video
thank you
LOL! Thanks mairdie! You are one quirky lady! ;-D
True. And you’re marvelous!

My friends and family think I’ve gone full CCP as I have switched to mostly watching Chinese Dramas. And I subscribed to ViKi per your suggestion. Love the historical costume dramas.
Isn’t it funny? I never realized how the political parts of China have prejudiced Americans against the PEOPLE of China. The people have the same problems we do and have similar values. They love their history as we love our westerns. They’re patriotic to China as we are to America. I don’t hear any communist propaganda when I watch. I hear plain old people with a slightly different slant on things that fascinate me to figure out where those differences originate.

I have watched Love like the Galaxy twice. Wu Lei (Leo Wu) is such an excellent actor, and Zhao Lusi (Rosy) is too, plus she has such a doll like face.
There are so many interesting things to find out about their history, too.
I’ve also watched Miss Truth twice, too, just because I liked Pei Zi Tian (Tim Pei) in it as the bad boy assassin with amazing cheekbones.

Thank you, thank you, for the recommendation. I’m always looking for good new shows. Currently doing a watch party for the first time with Our Blooming Youth, an historical.
Well Burton Cummings didn’t lose his sense of taste, nor by looking at him his love of sugar. Last I saw the dude is desperate for a salad.

Looked him up. He’s ADORABLE!
