Because I’m old enough to remember when TV had moral values. I just gave up on cable TV when I found I was getting upset by their political bents in places that bias was totally unnecessary. China and Korea are way behind us in having their programming contaminated by Hollywood. It’s rather like you’re watching good TV from early days that has the production quality of the best of today. Yes, it’s a pain to read subtitles, and sometimes my eyes ache. But the pleasure of seeing incredible creative writing makes up for it all. I had a couple agented scripts in Hollywood, so I care a LOT about plots and character development and uniqueness. I’m thrilled by Chinese and Korean dramas when I thought my TV days were over.
Alrighty then. /s

My friends and family think I’ve gone full CCP as I have switched to mostly watching Chinese Dramas. And I subscribed to ViKi per your suggestion. Love the historical costume dramas.
