And what was with that dude going all “Rocky” on the football?
And then there were the idiot Niners coaches who didn’t bother to challenge the early catch on 4th down.
Even if you think there is a 1% that the call is overturned, you challenge that play, immediately.
As an Eagles fan and PA resident-—today feels nice. :)
Mein Gott! Schon wieder so'n "von."
These German noblemen should stick to playing their pantywaist "European football."
Regards,
What is this NFC they speak of?
Two really lousy games ruined by overactive officiating. They appeared rigged.
“It was pretty obvious that Williams acted out of frustration with San Francisco getting blown out by the Eagles.”
The only obvious thing here is that the writer of the article is a fan of, or works for, the Eagles. His description of the altercation identifies Williams, his position, the fact that they were losing, and guessed that Williams was frustrated and acted like an animal in his part of the situation. We don’t know what started it as Williams walked up and grabbed Wallace from behind to pull him away after the push and shove started a good five yards from where Williams was. So the altercation may not have involved Williams at all until he came into it to break it up. And if Wallace was not a part of the problem, then why was he ejected? I would guess because he was in the middle of the problem when Williams arrived and continued the effort after he was thrown to the ground.
Incorrect conduct, actually anywhere, by NFL connected staff, falls under the Code of Conduct put forth by the NFL last time in 2018:
It is a privilege to be part of the National Football League. Everyone who is part of the league must refrain from “conduct detrimental to the integrity of and public confidence in” the NFL. This includes owners, coaches, players, other team employees, game officials, and employees of the league
office, NFL Films, NFL Network, or any other NFL business.”
The entire code is at this site:

And because the officials didn’t start the efforts to delve out punishment until Williams got into it, flags, they let is escalate into an ejectable situation from personal foul penalties. So they were also contributory in the advancement of the illegal actions.
Just another example of thugs in a game that is supposed to be entertaining to kids along with the adults. Real good examples.

Yeah, punching a guy in the helmet? Can’t quite figure that one.
I went to a football game, and a hockey game broke out.
With or without Purdy the officiating would have seen to it the Eagles won. The fix is in.
The San Fransico Forty WHINERS!
Raiders & Chiefs 1970. Raiders DE Ben Davidson hit Lenny Dawson when Dawson was already on the ground. Chiefs WR Otis Taylor ran back and jumped on Davidson. The brawl was one for the ages, benches cleared and it went on for 10 minutes or so. Johnny Carson even did a replay of several minutes of the brawl on the Tonight Show.
Just say “NFL-style Fight” - both sports offer their audiences the same level of authenticity. :)
Will Wallace be barred from the Super Bowl for his misbehavior?
