Memphis officers were worried about getting pepper spray off their own eyes first and even enjoyed a smoke while Tyre Nichols lay dying on the ground.
Shocking footage of Nichols' encounter with police over a traffic stop shows the moment cops pepper sprayed the 29-year-old, with one officer appearing to accidentally pepper spray himself and another.
The officers cry out in pain and one beats Nichols with a baton afterwards. A cop was later seen asking another officer to flush his eyes with water, while the assisting officer complained about losing his glasses in the initial traffic stop.
After the five officers beat and handcuffed Nichols, who was unable to sit up straight and lay slumped on the ground, one of the officers could be seen lighting a cigarette and smoking as paramedics arrived.
The videos surrounding Nichols death continue to be scrutinized as Shelby County Sheriff Floyd Bonner Jr. issued a new internal investigation after suspending two deputies who stood around as Nichols was left writhing in pain.
One of the videos released by Memphis Police shows the moment Nichols was pepper sprayed in the face after yelling for his mother.
The spraying officer appeared to get himself and another as they jumped away from the scene of the arrest, cursing and yelling in pain.
'Ah ****,' the officers could be heard saying as one wiped his face and walked back to Nichols, who was on his feet.
'Watch out! I'm going to baton the **** out of you,' the officer said as he swings his baton while another sucker punches Nichols.

#FunnyNotFunny... This almost looked like a rival gang hit like that plague most DemWit run “Blue” cities these days. A black victim and black perps and the savagery of the crime after what is said was a “routine” traffic stop.
Makes one wonder how many big city police departments may have gang members on the force? Was Tyre Nichols targeted? It sure looked like it. #Protect&Serve
But after further contemplation and watching CNN/MSNBC, I’m sure it was just another example of white supremacy and systematic racism that causes young black men to murder each other. :(

Pretty much it’s come down to that the only people who are willing to be cops are the kinds of people who would otherwise go into a life of crime.
such a lying headline...the 2 cops they are referring too were nowhere near where this guy ended up getting caught...they were at the point where this dummy first took off running...

Policing and regulating the public (which the rulers detest) goes unsupervised and unobserved once the money flows. It's about the funding, not the benefit or risk.
And this all started back in the 70s when all of these “progressive” mayors decided to start “winnowing out the neanderthals” in the police departments, and “bringing them more into line with the mainstream of 20th century thought.”
All it did was more and more drive out good people from wanting to be cops. And now, here we are.

Having watched the bodycam video, these officers were involved with the initial encounter with the suspect but were not involved once the suspect escaped.
They both got pepper spray residue on them. One got some in his eyes and so could no longer see. The other lost his prescription (?) glasses.
The officers were directing other officers in the direction the suspect fled as they arrived on scene, while one of the officers rendered first aid to help the other officer clean the pepper spray from his eyes. The officer was apparently able to locate his glasses in the street.
Not seeing anything untoward with these two on this video.

on the program, “On Patrol Live”, on Friday and Saturday nights, one sees live over and over again across the nation where some fool runs from the cops after a traffic stop and then resists arrest, gets caught and arrested, and yet they never get beaten or roughed up and usually not even tased ...
the show features black cops, white cops, hispanic cops male cops and female cops ... the miscreants are likewise, black, white, hispanic, male, female, young, old ... all are treated the same ...
It’s interesting that an “independent” autopsy by the family was done but has not been released. It was announced that the autopsy noted that Nichols had been “beaten” but did not say the beating was the cause of death.
I’m not finding any autopsy report by the city or county.
So, we don’t know what his cause of death (3 days after the beating incident) was.

I read (will see if I can find it) that he died from internal bleeding from a head wound. It likely is speculation.
