I had Windows 7 on my laptop and after a few years was told I needed to upgrade to Windows 10. So I did.
It wiped out some of the best programs that were in Win 7, and thinks I am in Denmark even though I am in the middle of the USA.
Now they are telling me I need to upgrade my old Win 8 to the new format, so I tried. It says it cannot run it on my computer.

Win10 is more secure, but otherwise it can't hold a candle to 7.
My MacOS and Linux boxes have VMware VMs of Win7 and Win10 for those times when only Windows will do. The Win7 never goes on the internet, however. If for some reason I must use Windows on the internet, I use the Win10.

XP was probably the best operating system Microsoft ever sold.
