A six-year-old boy who shot his teacher in Virginia had stole his mother's gun from their home before putting it in his backpack and pulling the trigger during class.
The Richneck Elementary School student - who is still unnamed - is now being detained in a medical facility where professionals continue to psychologically evaluate him.
Teacher Abby Zwerner, 25, is stable after the life-threatening attack on Friday. She was shot at point-blank range - and the bullet went through her hand and into her chest.
She was giving her first grade class instructions when the child pulled the gun out of his backpack and shot her. Police have confirmed that the attack was intentional, not accidental.
Newport News Police Chief Steve Drew said on Monday afternoon that more facts have to be gathered before the department can determine if charges will be filed against the boy's mother.
Drew also revealed that Zwerner made sure all of the children in her class were safe and out of the room before she attempted to get help for herself. He said that the teacher's first question when he visited her was 'do you know how my students are.'
The six-year-old 'combative' boy was physically detained by another school employee following the terrifying shooting - who he then hit, police confirmed.

How do you know the teacher was not abusing the boy? He didn’t shot other kids, just her. Maybe he didn’t like being told he was really a girl in a boy’d body.

If the teacher was abusing him, she was not a victim.
If that’s the kid and mother, it is quite possible that the child had been programmed by Mom and society to view white people as evil.

BTW, I would not be surprised to see the boy admitted right back into that classroom.
The kid will never be right but whoever left a gun where a six year-old can get it is responsible.
How do you know the boy was not abusing the teacher and his classmates? None of the other kids shot the teacher. Maybe he didn’t like being told what to do by some white woman.

The amount of security for a firearm varies depending on the immediate environment. Unpredictable children in the house raise it up to the level of a gun safe with biometric access. Such a safe costs less than half of what she probably paid for the ink.
“parents”... you are assuming the child has both? I’m 100% certain this child has no father (whether there is a “man” at home or not is irrelevant... there was no actual FATHER).

Of course, I hope she fully recovers as well, but the ring in her nose says that her presence at this particular “skrewl” likely says that she was just as naive as the lefty animal rights activist who ventures into the tiger enclosure to pet the “fluffy kitty” and gets her arm bitten off. Some places are just filled with wild animals that wise people should stay far away from.

Also, was the mother’s gun registered or stolen.
Maybe he was not intending to shoot the teacher...
Maybe he was going to shoot the clerks at the nearest MacDonald’s if they didn’t give him really hot fries...
