Anyone else feel this is a big mistake backing a loser like McCarthy?
It has been obvious to any of us on FR for weeks that he doesn't have the votes to be speaker and all this would happen yet Trump has backed him with gusto.
He cannot possibly be speaker after all this and still has no where near the votes anyway.
I feel again Trump has made an error in who is supporting or promoting....
Consider it all in this light.
Biden is mentally disabled.
Blow job is incompetent.
The next in line is the speaker of the house.
who is best to put there now?
Who can pull off impeachments?
Who will take that action?
That is how I see it.
Personally I think they should make Trump Speaker.

I haven’t been keeping up on any of this because I’ve been involved in personal issues but jeez what a mess. Right now the Republicants better rally and I don’t care who they rally for. I can see that the Rats are diggin this.

exactly - 10-20 ‘renegades’ have not brought forth a winner, have they? what a spectacle yesterday. i imagine Trump was able to work w/McCarthy as imperfect as both are. we are allowing some’s idea of ‘perfection’ stand in the way of success - a no no per RR.
Because he and JORDAN are smart enough to understand what the other 20 R losers are doing to us.
Trump always wants peace but he selects when to take a stand. Maybe now is the time to do the battle between MAGA and the eGOP. Trump needs to listen to his front line soldiers OR Trump is supporting McCarthy publicly bit is working behind the scenes for his defeat.
There is so much smoke and mirror dynamic going on.Its hard to tell. But it is clear, its time for the eGOP to share power with MAGA, or else.
IMHO McCarthy is toast.And if the RINOs elect Jeffries instead of a scrapper from the GOP, it will spell the end of the Republican Party as we know it. Do McCarthy/McConnell hate Trump that bad that they would destroy their own party rather than accommodate MAGA? We will find out in a day or so.
So people can bitch & complain about Trump’s picks.
This rebellion against McCarthy is being led by some members of the Freedom Caucus.
Trump had members of this group in his administration, when they served in Congress both Meadows & Mulvaney were members.
Trump has backed both establishment Republicans and newer MAGA types. When he was President he tried to work with the variety of factions that make up the party.
How many of them reciprocated in good faith?
Many didn’t, it looked like playing Washington DC “scandal games” and getting media attention became a higher priority.
Agreed.
And that is why he will not get my vote for the 2024 cycle.
McCarthy does not have the votes.
An alternative will emerge.
Trump has an abysmal history in selecting people; Pence, Jeff Sessions, Wray, Mark Esper, William Barr etc.. This failure undermined his presidency and reelection
Then perhaps Trump’s endorsement will change.
Until then, this is all just theatrics.

Trump was asked yesterday if he still supported McCarthy as Speaker.
His answer was something like have to wait and see what happens.
Not a ringing endorsement of McCarthy.

He’s pretty much picked losers from day one. It all started with his VP and went down from there. He needs to stop picking people who say a nice word about him thinking that’s the qualification for being a team player. It’s not and has been proven that over and over again.
You are dead wrong IMHO!!! Kevin McCarthy is the man to be house speaker and that should have occurred on the first House vote yesterday. Is McCarthy not flawed...sure he is...but the GOP goons should have been ready and able to go to war with Democrat, Fake POTUS, Criminal, Joe Biden and the entire scum and bermin in the Democrat Party that is destroying this once great nation!!!

Trump rarely gives a “ringing endorsement” to anybody. He backs the person he thinks is going to win, but he will ditch a loser faster than anyone.
P.S. — Trump would have lost in 2016 without Pence on the ticket.
