Do you still have electricity?
That’s crazy cold. Here in NH we have been without electricity all day with rain and high winds.
Weber getting the flash freeze tonight.

60 years in this state, and I still haven’t figured that one out.

Might have. Yesterday marked 21 years as a FReeper and I’ve probably shared that story

Last time winter was that bad up here was 1993-1994.

My daughter’s school had 14 snow days that winter.

Trucked many a load in the upper midwest when I lived in NW IL. But the worst was mid Feb 06, when I covered for a driver that ran a west coast a load of meat from Storm Lake, IA to Newark, CA (south of Oakland). Waited half a day at Storm Lake. Sub single digits, snow and blowing snow in IA and Nebraska, then just blowing snow and down to -29 (wind chill -50?) across WY through the middle of the night. Quit counting fuel gelled and dead semis at 60.

Was snowing on Donner’s pass, but got through (sat all Sunday at Gilroy). Backhauled through Oxnard, Coachella, Phoenix, and on to Chicago, then back west to the Quad Cities and home. 5,140 miles in 5 1/2 days (930 miles/day) total: 7 days and 4 hours. Should have been a team run.

I tell my wife when eating a salad in the winter, “some driver drove through the night in less than favorable conditions so we could have fresh veggies from the southwest.” And those enjoying a steak on the west coast need the same appreciation.

“I would like to hear from other FReepers.
THIS is a cold one, the likes I’VE never experienced in almost 75 years living in the north east quadrant my entire life.”

Caused by global warming, don’t you get it?

Sounds like you are all set bro. Menierva’s best, mango float. Marlene will bake pies from scratch. Lechon baboy, afritada, pancit, langanisa, tocino, but absolutely no durian, balut or dinuguan. 🤗😆

You’re right. I meant Farenheit.
But, I’m still walking uphill both ways.

In three days, it will be -6C. So, the forecast says.

Minus 2 with strong winds. Stepped out for some Christmas shopping and was surprised to see brisk business going on. From store to car I got a headache from the cold, even with good hat and gloves. Not unheard-of cold or weather. Drivers here are good when it comes to ice and snow. But good golly, don’t get stuck out there!

I lived in North Dakota for 1.5 years, near where China’s buying land. Average temp in January was -20. Weather channel showed wind chill. Coldest I saw it get was -50 in blizzard, wind chill -80 F. Yeah, right now it is cold, but not incomparably cold.

It’s 48 here in Orlando- expecting 29 in the morning. Going to stay that way through weekend.

Son up in Lexington Ky. says it’s about 5 with windchill in the -20’s range.

Just saw Reed Timmer on YouTube in Buffalo. 80mph winds and expecting 70plus inches of snow.

From my friend in Montana, just now

8:15am. Here's a picture of -50 °F, I-15, Elk Park, MT, between Butte and Helena. We note the temperature sensor has stopped reporting, so likely at it's minimum operating value. Webcam image courtesy Montana Department of Transportation
