There will be oodles of E.V.s stuck. Batteries should not be charged in freezing temps.
Do they have block heater equivalents for EVs? In northern Alberta, every parking space has a block heater outlet at work places.

It was -8f this morning with a windchill 0f -30 near Columbus Ohio. I didn’t get to fly back home today. Wind still kicking up. Only -2 now and -20 windchill.

most of my plumbing is not against any walls. That wind kept my awake last night. Woke up this morning and my car had limbs on it. I have mu furnace set at 72 and it is working to stay at 67.
I guess we aren’t freezing...yet anyway. Two more days of pretty awfulness still ahead.

THIS is a cold one, the likes I'VE never experienced in almost 75 years living in the north east quadrant my entire life. The HIGH in Philadelphia in 1980 was 7 degrees on Christmas day.

Welcome to the club! It was 50F here in Eastern KY when we went to bed last night, and -4 when we got up this AM. It got up to a blistering 3F briefly this PM. Wind is making everything worse. If Santa brings coal I’m burnin’ it!

Just drove from outside Baltimore to North of Detroit.
Was 45 degrees when I left at 6:30 this morning - stopped at 11:30 for gas in Ohio and it was 3 below...
Huge pileup on Ohio Turnpike - rough trip.

The “feels like” temp is -35 in central Ohio. In Juneau, it feels like 0. It is literally warmer in Alaska.
