How do you like that? There are TWO miniseries titled “North and South.” The Brit one is about social turmoil during the Industrial Revolution which sounds interesting, too. That also explains why Kirstie Allie is not starring in the Brit version.

LOL.

btw, if your local library has Hoopladigital you can watch 10 things a month online. I have found some interesting things on there I had never heard of. Some months they put on “sales” where it’s called a bonus borrow and doesn’t count towards your checkout limit.

Sudden cancer victim so very possibly the jab.

She was a Scientologist, so very possibly not the jab.

“71 years isn’t bad.”

Easy to say when you are younger than 71! Sounds WAY too young to me.

RIP Kirstie. First saw her in the 1985 “North and South” TV mini-series with Patrick Swayze (Orry Main). She played Virgilia Hazard, sister of George Hazard, played by James Read. Several of the people who starred in the series got married: James Read, and his co-star Wendy Kilbourne, are still married. Lesley-Anne Down met her husband Don E. FauntLeRoy who was a cinematographer for the series, are still married. Genie Francis and Jonathan Frakes met while filming the series, and are still married. Terri Garber met her first husband Christopher Martin “Chris” Hager, when he was working as a grip on the North & South series set. They have one daughter, and divorced in 1989. Kirstie Alley had already met and married Parker Stevenson before they both appeared in the series. They divorced in 1997.

Star Trek movie. She played a Romulan/Vulcan character. She told the most hilarious story about a first date one evening after a full day of filming. She always had a full head of thick hair, and she ran off the soundstage without taking the time to look in a mirror. She had not removed her pointed earpieces. As the evening date / dinner is progressing, she takes her hand and moves her hair back from her face, behind her ear. Her date started to have the most amazing, strange look on his face, and then she remembered her pointed ears. Not sure if there was ever a second date. Her time at Cheers was so funny, and so well done. A very, very beautiful person.

Wish I could believe she was with the Lord now, though I doubt it (Scientologist I heard).

Nope, never watched a single episode of “Cheers.”

You should. You would enjoy, even given the politics of some of the cast off stage.

“Why beer makes you smarter” with Cliff , that alone is worthy.

She was the best part of Cheers.

Her casting was key in keeping the show afloat after Shelly Long left. Not only did the show survive, but it became more popular.

Cheers was pretty much “The Shelly Long Show”. Once she left, it became more of an ensemble. That’s when the rest of the cast was able to shine.

I remember well how cruelly she was treated because of her weight and her views later in life. She didn't deserve that nastiness.

Goodbye Kirstie, your wit and humor will be missed.
