The United States booked their place in the last-16 of the World Cup in Qatar with a nerve-shredding 1-0 victory over Iran on Tuesday.
Gregg Berhalter's side went into the clash knowing a win was the only result to take them through, and Christian Pulisic's first-half goal was enough to seal three points.
The US will take on the Netherlands in the last 16 on Saturday.

I feel bad for the Iranian players. They will probably be executed.
How wonderfully prophetic in such a quantum way.
ok.
Did USA have their tranny patches on? Very important to show those Iranians that we love trannies.
I watched all 3 US games and didn’t see one tranny patch. I did, however, see them with hands over their hearts during the national anthem and saw interviews of two of the black US players speaking so highly of the country you’d think the media would call them white supremacists. LOL
No they didn’t.
Outside that, a game of two halves. I hate sitting, and hanging back, on a lead. You’re just asking for waves of chances to come at you.
I get that they were gassed but the Iranians took advantage and almost got one a few times.
Phew. Good for team USA.
The good news is the defense; only 1 goal scored on the US in three games.
The bad news is the offense; only 2 goals scored against three opponents.
Doesn’t bode well for going far.
I tried to watch...I really did. Got so bored after the second half started, I couldn’t go on. Snoozefest.
I saw an article stating that they were being threatened with a “win or else”.
Who cares.
Call me an old fashioned American, but seeing a bunch of men running up and down the field for 90+ minutes only to not score against Wales in that game and only one score against Iran in this game is not in my sports entertainment playbook. I’ll take American football every time, especially college as there can be more action in the last two minutes of a game than two full soccer matches.
Depends on said action. TV has helped to destroyed college football, same for the nfl. Throw in the over protection for the QB. Rugby is a fine alternative game, similar to american football of old.
Somehow, this is Israel’s fault.
Only if they go home
Or else what?
Get sent home on a cargo plane? That happened to Team France a few years ago.
Get kicked off the team? (do they get paid? I don’t know.)
Shocked. Now we get a few more days of virtue signaling.
What makes sports interesting is Superstars. Players that have extreme talent tend to draw in fans often times when you don’t really even like watching the sport. Players like Jack Nicklaus or Tiger Woods, or late drives from Joe Namath or Tom Brady, or runs from Sanders or Payton, or others who dominate. Screw equally matched, it;s the GOAT players that make things interesting.
ThAT IS WHAT I SCREAMED AFTER IT WAS OVER!!! I hate it that Christian may be out Saturday. We need every man on board to beat the Dutch. Knock outs begin.
We got the World Cup in 2026. Otherwise we will probably pull out of FIFA
