Photo credit: Justin Sullivan, Getty Images. Former President Donald Trump attacked numerous news outlets and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) in a statement he released to his followers Thursday night.

The former president, who is largely being blamed for costing Republicans big in the midterms, again referred to DeSantis as “Ron DeSanctimonious.” He also accused media outlets owned by the Murdoch family of colluding against him.

Trump and the rest of us would be well served to let the dust settle before we go apecrap on each other.

However we move forward, we’d be best served to move forward together.

Trump is getting to the point of diminished returns. Though his ego won’t let him, it’s time for him to step off and give it a rest.

“But I blame Trump for not displacing them as “the establishment” when he had four years in the White House”

Not displacing them? Trump just endorsed McCarthy two days ago for Speaker of the House...

But his silence while Trump is targeted with a coordinate establishment assault, doesnt look like courage or loyalty to put it mildly

His silence is part of the plan.

He's an establishment tool, and he's content to stand aside and let the media do the dirty work.

If Trump knows he is being undermined by the GOP establishment, he announces that he's running in 2024 as an independent.

Leave it to AC to once again think outside the box and come up with intriguing possibility.

I believe this would be terribly foolish, and would cause immense pain for us all, both in the short and long term, as he would have no chance of putting together an adequate coalition.

But since you mentioned it, and based on the jealous rage Trump seems to be suffering from right now, I have to admit it could happen. Let's just hope it doesn't, now, or in the future.

But in his next term, Trump has to hire from the MAGA pool of applicants, not from the uniparty list.

Correct. Let's see if we can figure out who the sleepers arew this time. Hell, DeSantis could be a sleeper for all we know. At least he is not 'corruption proof' like Trump is. The Derps can get to anybody. Every man has a price.

Unless you're The Donald. He is a once in a lifetime politician. To ditch him now is to surrender to the Derps. This I will not do, though all my fighters wither beside me.

“ Alberta’s Child is thinking while your rolling in the mud crying. Just another Karen. ”

Anyone who wants to go back and critique April 2020 decisions isn’t living in the real world.
Governors had tough decisions to make with changing information .
Only keyboard commandos go down this line of thinking.

A foolish line of thought. In April of 2020 imperfect decisions were made in in an extremely unknown environment.

That's your explanation/excuse.

What I find most disturbing of all is that we are now seeing a concerted effort among political forces and in the media to whitewash history and pretend it never happened.

This is like something out of East Germany during the Cold War.

One of the lessons I've learned over the years is that it's absolutely critical to see how a leader (in government or business) reacts at the very start of a crisis -- when all the facts are not known, and when panic is understandable.

People in leadership positions show their primary instincts in these situations.

And I have nothing but contempt for anyone who acts like a dictator and throws all principles of freedom and liberty out the window at a critical time. This goes for DeSantis in Florida and that other nitwit in Pennsylvania (Mastriano) who was publicly calling in March 2020 for the suspension of HIPAA privacy laws and registering people with positive COVID test results in a public database.

There's a reason why the primary instinct of @ssholes like this is for a totalitarian government solution to a crisis: It's because they've worked in government all their lives (and in the case of both Mastriano and DeSantis, spent long stretches of their government careers in the U.S. military) and they simply have no respect for the fundamental principle that freedom and liberty exists outside of government and is not subject to negotiation.
