Easy to say while watching a video. I’ve watched people get shot multiple times, fall, get back up and actually run toward cops/victims again.

I disagree. But you raise a good point. Those last few rounds pumped into Tyree just may be the ammunition needed (pardon the pun) for activists to get that cop fired and possibly even put on trial.

You are only able to make the guess that he was no longer a threat AFTER the entire incident is over.
He still had the knife in his hand when the officer fired his last shot. The perp then dropped the knife but continued to reach for it after the last shot.
It would have been foolish to ASSUME the perp was no longer a threat. That is something to verify, which is what happened. And then they rendered aid.
