Donald Trump is my favorite President, even more so than Ronald Reagan.
However, I think I’m moving on from him.
I like him in the role of a clarion-calling standard bearer, and his presidency was the best I have ever seen.
I don’t like him in terms of his failure to be a team player. I’m not even sure I like him as a kingmaker. Calling out numbers to make him look good, in a severely-disappointing election shows me he doesn’t care about the boots on the ground, but only how he looks.
Reagan faced the same Establishment hate and Media mocking, but he had a great way of playful rebuttal, with a twinkle in his eye and a little smile. America loved that. All the attacks mustered against him, failed, because he was able to gently turn it around on his attacker with a witty quip or a well thought out fact.
Reagan was also the author of the phrase, the 11th commandment, which was “Thou shall not attack a fellow Republican.”
Trump, on the other hand, has a serious ego problem. He cannot resist getting into a public verbal fight with anyone who criticizes him. While this was fresh and new in 2016, and propelled him into the presidency, it doesn’t work in 2022.
Also, the way Trump fights back is not nearly as good as Reagan’s style. Trump hasn’t got the charm of Reagan, and it’s beginning to hurt our side.
It is for these reasons that I must move on from Donald Trump. Sir, thank you for your incredibly wonderful service in 2016 through 2020. You made those years prosperous and sane. But it is time to move on.
I’m likely to get a ton of flak for this post. That’s okay, I can take it.
I don't like you, Overcusser. You are too new and you are not a thoughtful writer. I also have suspicions about you, that you might be a disrupter.
That can change, but that is how I consider you now.
I’m not against someone like Kari Lake....we’d just have to see about it.
BTW, you didn’t notice my movie reference? John Belushi “1942?”
Of course I did! I didn't respond because it's hard to respond to everyone.
Well said.
Absolutely not. I have not turned, nor have I gone pussy.
My thesis should show I am a strong supporter of Trump's agenda, but it's not about a man. It's about a nation.
I feel Trump's style is not productive any more, not as it was in 2016 through 2020.
It is largely for that reason that I reluctantly have to walk away from a truly great president, President Trump.
If you have lost Laz, you’ve lost.
We all were like that. Both Dim voters and Republican voters. We all laughed at SNL Dana Carvey's imitations of Bush Sr, and at his imitations of Ross Perot, and at his imitations of Bill Clinton.
If you think about it, both Trump's mannerisms and Biden's mannerisms are high comedy material --- yet we're not allowed to laugh about them or their failed promises or ... you know the rest. It's sad, so sad.
Indeed sir/madam, indeed.
I wish PDJT was more disciplined, less bombastic, I truly wish he hadn’t pushed “his” “vaccines” so much...but then again, I wish for a lot of other things; all of us are less than perfect, and that includes Trump.
That being said, I wholeheartedly agree, Trump absorbed a lot of the vitriol that the left would have otherwise happily leveled at the conservative base under say, a Hillary presidency.
For that alone, I owe him my eternal gratitude.
I will not give up on him as he hasn’t given up on us.
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
I’ll carry on.
You can't 'not like' me, we've never spoken before.
Unless you've been here before under a different screen-name? Hmmm.....
BTW the reference is from “Animal House”.
Hot chicks in no way make up for last night’s disappointment.
Thanks, guys.
Thanks folks!
Thanks guys!
Thanks guys!
More than 230, now.
Ditto.
Apparently that headline was deliberately edited deceive us headline readers. Thanks for the correction. Really doesn’t matter much anymore we apparently insist on committing suicide either by really supporting the demon agenda or we are just too stupid to care that the other side steals elections.,p>
I can’t wait till we get to eat all those exotic animals they keep in the zoos. Does anyone with a brain believe that the people in Venezuela really voted to keep the leadership that destroyed their beautiful nation? Yep guess so, many Freepers seem to believe Kari lost because of Trump.
I voted for Trump twice, too. Enthusiastically. What he’s doing right now is ruining it for himself and The nation. I’m not happy at all about it. It’s more than disappointing.
