Donald Trump is my favorite President, even more so than Ronald Reagan.
However, I think I’m moving on from him.
I like him in the role of a clarion-calling standard bearer, and his presidency was the best I have ever seen.
I don’t like him in terms of his failure to be a team player. I’m not even sure I like him as a kingmaker. Calling out numbers to make him look good, in a severely-disappointing election shows me he doesn’t care about the boots on the ground, but only how he looks.
Reagan faced the same Establishment hate and Media mocking, but he had a great way of playful rebuttal, with a twinkle in his eye and a little smile. America loved that. All the attacks mustered against him, failed, because he was able to gently turn it around on his attacker with a witty quip or a well thought out fact.
Reagan was also the author of the phrase, the 11th commandment, which was “Thou shall not attack a fellow Republican.”
Trump, on the other hand, has a serious ego problem. He cannot resist getting into a public verbal fight with anyone who criticizes him. While this was fresh and new in 2016, and propelled him into the presidency, it doesn’t work in 2022.
Also, the way Trump fights back is not nearly as good as Reagan’s style. Trump hasn’t got the charm of Reagan, and it’s beginning to hurt our side.
It is for these reasons that I must move on from Donald Trump. Sir, thank you for your incredibly wonderful service in 2016 through 2020. You made those years prosperous and sane. But it is time to move on.
I’m likely to get a ton of flak for this post. That’s okay, I can take it.
America has devolved from a country where, in spite of differences, the vast majority of its people agreed on important things like the sanctity of human life, love of country and the existence of God. They didn't celebrate perversity, stupidity, personal irresponsibility, infantilism, communism, pornography, thuggish behaviors, the mutilation of children by so-called "doctors," and the murder of full-term infants in the womb. And they damn well would have never put up with "lockdowns" and "masking" nor would we have accepted sitting on our hands while scumbag bureaucrats and government drones forced the destruction of their businesses. I also believe that religious leaders of that time would have told the "authorities" to get bent rather than shutter their places of worship.
Most of us on this forum come from that former time so yeah, we're shocked to the core when we see things like elementary school children being instructed by their teachers in the finer points of fellatio and anal sex while mentally ill predators dressed as women dance for five-year-olds in libraries across America and masses of tatt-covered, pierced, blue/red/purple-haired, poorly-dressed, foulmouthed, paunchy demons roam the streets, tormenting and attempting to ruin those who disagree with their crazy bullshit.
A culture of thuggery, stupidity, self-mutilation, sloth and greed is now exalted and embraced by vast numbers of Americans. More and more Americans (and Westerners in general) resoundingly reject the notion of God as the highest power in the world and anoint themselves as gods instead.
Those "gods" are now busy building a hell on earth.
Let's face it, we're the "Old Guard" when it comes to standing up for time-tested, traditional things, for good things and for viable, constructive things. Slowly but surely our sensibilities are being pushed out of the mainstream in favor of those belonging to generations of uneducated, leftist-indoctrinated, infantile narcissists who believe the world begins and ends with whatever sick, destructive and crazy things they desire to do. The only thing that can turn things around would be something calamitous like a world war or complete economic or societal collapse. At this point nothing else would force shrunken heads and blackened hearts across America to leave the disjointed, narcissistic worlds of their "smart" phones and abandon their envious, infantile revenge fantasies against humanity.
For what it's worth, I think it's time to huddle with like minded folks, find a way to keep away from all the crazy shit foisted on America by leftist filth and get on with our lives outside the new mainstream, because the new mainstream is both vile and evil. Make the Red States redder, keep the Feds out and get on with life. Through pure luck I moved out of the US eight years ago and moved to a country where "Old School" guys like me hold the majority views on just about everything - not having to have vile, leftist scumbaggery rubbed in one's face every day is a great way to live. With the way things are there, I could never live in the US again.
Way to take a 9-iron to the hornet’s nest, Laz!
lol
Aw c’mon, man. Did we give up when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? :0)
[But, if Trump runs I’ll vote for him. Why? My dream is that he and DeSantis run as a team.. if they can figure out the FL residency thing.]
I love you, Guen! I embrace the fact you have a different opinion. Different opinions is what keeps FR fresh and active.
We can disagree and still be madly in love with one another!
You got that right!
I am Free Republic's original shit-stirrer! LOL
But in seriousness, that's not my intent. My intent is to share my reasoned thoughts on one of my favorite presidents, Donald Trump.
Trump is done if people quit and have no resolve.
You mean RINOs who endorsed candidates Trump didn’t are now getting behind Sanctimonious?
And it’s not considered a flip-flop?
Oh really?!
Even if we disagreed, you'd have not lost my friendship over this. You're as entitled to your opinion as anyone else.
Love ya like a brother. You know that.
All of politics has become more crude and hostile.
Biden is crude and hostile. Obama was crude and hostile. The press is crude and hostile. Many congressmen and senators are crude and hostile.
The 1980's were a more refined, gracious, gentlemanly time. Remember Mondale's reaction when Reagan poked a little fun at him? He genuinely laughed, and was gracious about it. That would never happen today.
Yeah, but you would have lost MINE!
KIDDING!!!
Love ya like a brother. You know that.
Ditto.
Trump isn’t the problem. Election fraud is and it will continue now in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan. And, it will continue in Arizona is Lake loses. Meaning the only path to victory for any Republican would be through North Carolina, Nevada and Georgia with Georgia only being possible if the Republican establishment approves of the candidate.
I would vote for him, too, obviously.
But my dream is that Kari Lake head up a 2024 ticket. Let the first woman president be REPUBLICAN MAGA!
Hope you have your fire proof clothes on
Still very thoughtful. I need to ponder for a bit before I say yup
Respectfully, he's part of the problem. A good candidate can overwhelm voter fraud, especially when they are aware of it beforehand.
Ah a never Trump chimes in
Surprisingly, very few flames!
It wasn't Donald's fault, it's all voter fraud...
Here's some Olivia Dunne to get your mind off of it -
Damn, bro. Well written.
Establishment candidates ran ahead of MAGA candidates in many states. That’s something that conservatives will have to cope with.
