Good night for Republicans, but no red wave

Posted on 11/08/2022 7:29:14 PM PST by bigdaddy45

Republicans are having a good, but not a great night. Some vulnerable House Dems survived. We take the House, but it will be tight. Senate... who knows. Georgia will go to a runoff.

Desantis is the new star of the party. He took a swing state, turned Hispanics, and won by 20 points. Massive win. He is now firmly in Trump's sights and he will do whatever he can to cut Desantis down.

Reds get redder (FL), blues get bluer (NY).

A good night???? This night was a disaster in many respects for the Republicans based upon the horrendous performance of Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer and dip shit Biden. There should’ve been a red tsunami, and there was it… Yes, Florida, crushed it but not many other places, and there’s a good possibility that we don’t take control of the senate.

It’s time for Trump to retire.

It’s time for Trump to retire.

Not going to happen.

[It was a thin, “Red Mist”.]

Trafalgar moved out of its comfort zone in the South, started polling elsewhere. Other polling outfits looked at Trafalgar’s excellent prior record (albeit confined to the South), and started tacking towards Trafalgar’s methodology. Turns out Trafalgar’s methods were fine for the South, but not quite as suitable for other regions.

Obviously you’re obsessed with DeSantis. He needs to focus on governing Florida. Trump will do what he does. Let’s focus on tonight.

DeSantis just won a four year term as Governor of Florida. Being from Fort Lauderdale, I would take umbrage if he spent the next two year running for POTUS.

I think that’s exactly what it is, the ship is sinking and rational people are bailing. If she wins absolutely I am outta here. I grew up in NYC, lived on Long Island, lived in Penn, moved back to Long Island to care for an ill parent, and the property taxes are absolutely destroying me, I just can’t do it anymore.

My mom who has stage 5 Alzheimers freaks out if she is moved to even a different room, but if the DemoMarxists win this election I think I’m going to have to find out if she can be sedated in any way so we can get out. My mom is my hero, she was a brilliant woman who taught me everything, math, science, history, English, Spanish, the constitution, I would literally give my life for her and these leftist bastards are hellbent on destroying us

“Honestly, if this is the result, this election sucks.”

Agreed ... with all that has happened in the past 2 years, with the horrible economy, inflation, forced vaccinations, destruction of our children in the schools, etc. etc...

And all that the Repubs can do is get a slim majority in the House and loose ground in the Senate ... the Repub party is pathetic. Depending on how bad or not, the cheat was, it seems to me people don’t give a rat’s ass if eggs are $20 a dozen, gas goes to $10/gal, heating/cooling their home will triple over what they paid 2 years ago ... the country is lost. Apathy reins in the country.

No, I’m not obsessed. But when a guy wins a statewide election by 20 points in a swing state? Its a bit deal.

Trump is burning too many bridges and the schtick is getting old.

Sorry for the negative energy, but I’m bearish on Walker in the runoff. The infuriating Kemp ticket splitters aside, I wonder how many of his soft Walker supporters won’t show up in a separate election. Assuming the libertarian votes split evenly, Walker starts only half a point ahead. That’s very easy ground for Warnock to make up.

As long as Jim Jordan follows through with investigations.

Would like the Senate to impeach too.
