These open spaces on the flatlands of Colorado make me feel claustrophobic. I need the mountains. But I don’t have them really, unless I walk waaaay out the back yard lol.

Forget mountains and plains. Forget land at all. I feel most at peace near water, the more raw and dangerous, the better. Born in Newfoundland, raised in Nova Scotia, I was always near the ocean. I’m away from the ocean now, but I’m next to Lake Erie, which rushes to become Niagara Falls. When I’m swimming, scuba diving, standing next to Niagara Falls or any ocean, playing golf in the rain, or just listening to the rain fall, I feel more at peace than anywhere else. The sound of moving water drowns out all the unpleasant noise in my life and in my head - voices, lies, media, the sound of crying children being abused and killed - sounds that are hard to escape sometimes. A shrinklet type might say I have a latent yearning to be back in the safety of the water-filled womb. I don’t know if any of us can explain why we have a need to be in a certain kind of environment. We just do.
I really wish she would stop borrowing my clothes without asking first.
In 2024, they would rebrand themselves as the Democratic-Republican Party if they wanted to go back to early American history. This would leave MAGA Republicans to find another label, perhaps Patriot Party or choose a name redolent with early American history such as the Federalist Party.
They're doing this while we speak.
It is part of the Great Plains after all. There is plenty of relief if you are on foot.
