MEDFORD, Ore. — A 75-year-old woman was arrested early Saturday morning after leading police on a high-speed chase on Interstate 5 from Merlin to Ashland.
Josephine County Sheriff's Office deputies clocked the car traveling at 112 mph on the interstate near Merlin just before midnight Friday. The driver failed to stop when deputies sounded their sirens, and when the woman passed into Jackson County, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office took over the chase.
During the pursuit, police spiked the woman's tires at least seven times, but she kept going, according to a post on the JCSO Facebook page. The woman drove without tires from Central Point to exit 14 in Ashland. At that point, police used a Pursuit Intervention Technique to stop the vehicle.

Did they have a helicopter on her tail?
There are some educational videos of helicopter tracking on similar drives in LA and some other places. It seems to be a bit of a sport in LA.
There was a Bingo game she just had to get to.
14 mpg here if I keep my foot out of the throttle-body. No way in hades I would ever do that.
“Sonny, can you save the lecture and just write me your ticket? I’m late for the Quilting Queen National Championship! I got my quilt entry in the trunk.
Should I pop the trunk for you, Officer?”
Replacing flattened 112 mph tires is not cheap these days.
I was following my mother in law back to her home town about 100 miles away. I was going 95+ mph trying to keep up with her. When we finally stopped, she said that she was singing along with the radio and with her cataracts, she couldn’t see the numbers on the speedometer. These things happen.
I was doing 80 in Monterey, CA last week and get this...true story.
I squinted my eyes as a Prius was closing distance on me and thought “Weird”
As the Prius passed me, it had a little old gray haired grandma at the wheel and another gray haired lady as passenger.
They blew right by me probably at 95 mph or better.
It was hilarious
I’d love to see what could be done with the Prius in terms of a sleeper.
considering she just lost her license, there won’t be an issue.
High crime in Methford.
