Los Angeles County closed its beaches in summer 2020. Ex post facto, this makes no more sense than my family’s masked hiking trips. But we need to learn from our mistakes and then let them go.

She excuses all this on the grounds that the facts were "uncertain", but ignores that her side was claiming the facts were certain. They also urged the banning, shunning, and or censoring of anyone who deigned to speculate the perhaps the science was not settled.

It's actually laughable. People like her spent two years trying to shut up the rest of us, and now that they were proven wrong, they just want us to forget about it. No freaking way. There should be consequences for those who advocated for public policies that turned out to be horribly wrong. At a minimum, those whose job it was to make those recommendations and/or decisions should lose those jobs.

We live in a hilly area and on a short walk, you can go from below 100’ in altitude to 400’+, in a few hundred feet.

Wearing a mask and trying to go up these hills often got a response like: “If you get a heart attack due to your stupid mask, we might call 911. We will not start or do CPR!”

One of our direct neighbors is 6’5” and in great shape and his laid off beer making son is 6’ and 250 #’s of former middle linebacker.

Idiot mask wearers usually listen to them and go back down the hill.

So, we don’t often see mask wearing idiots in our area.
