"Traffic deaths would decrease by over 80%."

unprovable....most DUI's are tested for alcohol, because its easy to test for....I suspect that for several decades now we've had alcohol taking full blame for accidents when the driver was impaired with cocaine, meth, weed, opiates, etc...

"There is NO benefit, either personally or societally, from drinking alcohol."

and yet Jesus made water into wine.....

I rarely drink but why the heck not?....its a relaxant.....its used for pain control in many countries...in Russia they use vodka to treat dystonia for example.

what perplexes me about this study is why prevention is not pushed and instead researching a drug that gives the green light to drinkers to keep drinking....

pancreatitis is avoidable if people stop drinking....although after you've had a couple rounds of pancreatitis drinking or not you are more likely to have further episodes....

"Wine" is the juice from the grape. It is wholly likely, and I believe it is the case, the Jesus made "New" wine from water, non-alcoholic. After all, the practice was mentioned that the host of a wedding party would serve the most intoxicating wine FIRST, and then the non-intoxicating wine afterwards after the guests were inebriated and were less likely to tell the difference. That's why the hosts were astonished that the "best" wine was brought out at the end of the feast.

Well. Let’s not get carried away.😉
Some people handle alcohol just fine. Others don’t.

No evidence this wine was alcoholic. It was literally juice of grapes - it could have been fermented or not from the labeling.

That’s great. Some people, unfortunately, take dozens and dozens of times.

I heard he didn’t pay taxes on it either.

My Dad passed this Spring from cancer of the Pancreas and he was a heavy drinker. Glad I quit years earlier. Life’s to short. Got things I still wanna do!🙂
I forget the Clint Eastwood movie but the quote has always stuck with me…”Man’s got to know his limitations “.

I got pancreatitis almost 7 years ago and haven’t had a drop since. I used to drink beer every day. At least a six pack. It caught up to me in my 50’s.The pain I was in was enough for me to stop. I do miss beer though.

50’s is usually when complications arise for those who have had a couple too many.

A guy I know died at 41 from organ failure.

>>There is NO benefit, either personally or societally, from drinking alcohol.

Wrong.

One of the hallmarks of essential tremor, useful in diagnosing the disorder, is that alcohol can temporarily ease symptoms

>>I’ve done extensive research.

Not very good at it I guess...

Alcohol has a hormetic physiological behavior that results in either increased or decreased cardiovascular risk depending on the amount consumed, drinking frequency, pattern of consumption

Cheers!

One of the things Noah did after The Flood was to get drunk and pass out naked on his front lawn.
