I was unfortunately informed yesterday evening that a young man apparently committed suicide on Saturday night/Sunday morning.

Close friend of the family and one of my youngest brothers best friends he was to stand with my brother at his wedding in just 2 weeks from now.

I wasn’t as close with the young man, but my dad and mom are crushed and my brother and his bride-to-be must be devastated as he had stayed at their place for a few months.

An Army veteran he apparently worked intelligence and did some CID work...which of course makes me suspicious that maybe there was more involved. I’ll never know.

I do know that I’ve lost nearly 1/2 dozen veteran friends, acquaintances, and 2nd/3rd tier contacts to this horrid epidemic within the past 5 years.

I’ve given my brother a few days to process before reaching out. He’s an experienced and awarded National Guard member, so I know this isn’t his first - but it’s the closest.

I’m just hoping his special day won’t be ruined forever as a result of this horrible situation.

Please pray with me for my brother and his bride-to-be as they try to navigate this loss in the midst of their upcoming wedding.
