An unmanned turret with an auto-loading ammunition system makes possible a reduced crew size, down from four to three. This is also a major draw, increasing survivability and freeing up space in the turret for more capabilities. The Soviets went to autoloaders and 3-man crews 50 years ago. Part of why we didn't do the same is reducing the size of the crew isn't that great an advantage on a 67-ton machine that requires a lot of field maintenance.

Wow. A 30 mm. cannon instead of either a 7.62 machine gun, a .50 caliber machine gun, a 20 mm cannon, or even a 25 mm cannon. I hope their not taking automation too far, and have some manual back up.
