When I was stationed in Germany, I once drove by a Nuclear Power Plant. I did not realize it at the time. I simply marveled at those giant towers (cooling towers) so close to the road. I realized sometime later just what they were. Likely after the Three Mile Island business, and that film ‘China Syndrome.’ My ignorance was profound.

Now, these days, this climate change nonsense has entire nations rejecting energy sources that are directly under their feet. Entire Economies and populations have placed themselves in grave danger with insipid national energy policies.

Coal has been rejected, nuclear power has been shunned, and we are digging up Lithium (and Cobalt, other elements) in trace amounts while scarring the Earth all in the name of ‘Environmentalism.’ It is just crazy. Germany is returning to nuclear power, and likely coal. It is gloomy and overcast for more than half of the year there, at least where I was, so Solar is out of the question.

I suppose that I could go on, but there seems little point. We are being steered into the old Barry Maguire song, and like riding a roller coaster we have our hands in the air, as if surrendering.

None of this computes for me.

Nuclear has always been the best option to transition to.

What the public doesn’t naturally recognize is that nuclear power moves the greatest Navy on the face of the earth, both submarines and carriers stay at sea for years with no upsets.

Even if the impossible happens and they are hit and sunk, the result will not be a 3-Mile or Chernobyl. The local environment will be relatively unharmed.

Funny how the activist public thinks that Navy nuclear generators are safe while believing the same technology is completely unsafe near their neighborhoods.

From my wanderings, the greenies/climate crap pushers actually like nuke power plants because “clean” ie no smoke I guess. Nuke power is one the evillest inventions ever. Totally expensive, governments have to underwrite; dangers as hell, no place to put the spent fuel which is hot for eternity practically.
