The Establishment has a pattern of giving their chosen candidates some leeway to earn their cred with the base. That’s how they’ve been able to maintain their controlled opposition scam for so long. Think of all the conservative darlings from the recent past who, when the time was right, ended up revealing that they were not what they seemed.

Why would anyone believe that DeSantis is somehow different? DeSantis has all the hallmarks of those I just mentioned. He’s reliant on consultants and big money Establishment donors. Do you think they would be backing him if they didn’t know what they were getting in return?

Suspect all you want. I’m just telling it like it is. DeSantis will win reelection for Governor easily, so there’s no harm in looking down the road to what’s likely to come. As far as driving a wedge between Trump and DeSantis, there either is one or there isn’t one. The two of them know which it is, and my speculation will have no effect on that. And whether or not they’ve said they’re on the same team doesn’t mean much. Remember all the talk about some grand alliance between Trump and Cruz in early 2016? Remember how that turned out?
Trump’s comments about DeSantis have been a mix of good and bad - hardly a complete endorsement.

There was always an “indefinable something” that just didn’t sit right re 17 SOG’s postings. The revelation about the Antifa blogger certainly doesn’t make them look any better. Maybe that “indefinable something” just got defined.
Personal belief is that the events of the past few days, especially Pres. Trump’s “golf gear trip” to DC & the meeting on the golf course, whose purpose no one really knows for sure, are a better fit with Devolution than with 17 SOG’s theory.
The hypocrisy is simply beyond belief.
