The corgis are more intelligent and likable.

So I’d already take a corgi to replace the Consort of Cornhole. But remember the movie King Ralph? Some of us think it was the clotshots that took out the Queen. If the rest of the English part of the clan took the shots they might very well find themselves down to a guy named Ralph. There’s no doubt a John Goodman type out there somewhere who didn’t get the royal shots?

Rumor has it that another favorite of the late Queen, the Duke of Mousehole from Cornwall, Sir Reginald as he is fondly known, was first considered, but he turned the new King down.

I approve!
My SIL had a Corgi ... fabulous little dog, great & big personality.
Two downsides ... one minor, one major:
Despite being short-haired, they shed ... a lot.
Unfortunately, Corgis are on the list of dogs who commonly get DM. German Shepards, Irish Setters, and Chesapeake Bay Retrievers are also on the list. DM = Degenerative Myelopathy. My SIL’s Corgi did develop DM - very sad to see him lose his mobility & eventually, as he developed further complications, he had to be put down. We remember him fondly & miss him a lot.

I usually find the Babylon Bee both ubiquitous and annoying, but today, I like it! Nail on the head. A thought many of us wanted someone to express in public.

As one of the corgis settled into his Royal Pillow, he became a lying, dog-faced, ponytail sniffer.

(Oh -- wait a minute -- that was the King of DC. Never mind.)

The Babylon Bee has just insulted dogs—this is totally unacceptable.

That’s really ‘Ruff!’
Considering it’s the Bee, I was halfway expecting to see photos of a Corgi wearing a Crown and an ermine collared cape.
