EXCLUSIVE: Candace Owens, 32, says Tennessee hospital threatened to call CHILD SERVICES and stopped her from leaving until her newborn underwent 'unnecessary' blood test - as she accuses 'hospital mafia' of inflating her insurance bill

Conservative analyst and author Candace Owens claims staff at a Tennessee hospital attempted to hold her and her newborn daughter hostage after she gave birth earlier this summer - telling her she was not allowed to leave until they drew blood from the hours-old, perfectly healthy child.

Speaking exclusively with DailyMail.com, the 32-year-old slammed staff at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, while recounting the '24 hours of torture' she says she suffered after giving birth to her second child Louise on July 13.

The mother-of-two, who launches the new DailyWire+ podcast, Candace, on Monday, said the alleged mistreatment started after she declined antibiotics and contraction-inducing drugs while going into labor. She added that it culminated in staffers threatening to call child services on the right-wing commentator.

Owens - who married British Oxford grad George Farmer in 2019 - further accused staffers of engaging in a concerted effort to empty her wallet, by keeping her for over 48 hours so her stay was not covered by insurance.

When she refused, Owens says that a hospital pediatrician approached her and her husband as they tried to leave, callously telling the couple 'that she watched a baby die in the 47th hour because her parents refused to stay.'

The pair ignored the staffer, Owens says - despite the workers' false assertions that her insurance would likely not cover the visit if she went against medical advice and left.

When Owens responded that she didn't care, a social worker employed by the hospital asked the couple to sign a document that said they were aware that The Department of Children's Services (DCS) could pay them a visit for leaving against doctor's orders, according to Owens.

That was my guess

As of now the tests have to be disclosed to the parents. Soon to change.

Ok. I get it that you don’t like Candace. But you do not know the whole story so I don’t think you can judge what she should have done. Ms. Owens is a very smart lady and not an idiot so I don’t believe she would do anything to endanger her child.

If your nurse documented you left against medical advice and refused to sign a release, its on you. You could get arrested if you got into an accident and they found out you left AMA from the facility. Of course, you would then probably blame the facility for not holding you, (as you were under the influence of anesthetic agents) and therefore you were unable to make correct decisions. Its stuff like this, and public hostility, that has now evolved into a staffing crisis in medical facilities.
The responsible thing to do was call a taxi or Uber home instead of endangering the public.
Do you think medical personnel want to deal with all of this ? If there was no baby involved, and Candace wanted to leave the hospital, I would be Johnny on the spot having her sign a AMA release and waving goodbye to her.

I like Candace. She is an idiot on this issue, and she better know her stuff because supporters like me are going to question her intelligence. She better consult with other physicians first before she does any more complaining.

I see more reasons for home births every day.

Yeah, they are awful. They have a protocol for your newborn and they think you have no say in it.

A week ago I heard about the blood brain barrier, and that some of the nasty stuff in babies’ vax cocktails are able to break through, possibly causing autism. I have no idea if it’s true, but who knows?

My mom had successful hip replacement surgery last week and came through it like a champ. After about 12 hours she began talking nonsense — was delusional. Someone mentioned “blood brain barrier”, which I’d never heard of before. Apparently anesthesia breaks the barrier and it can cause a patient to go off the rails, hopefully for not very long.

It’s very interesting how God put that there to protect the brain from bad stuff.

“ Exactly correct, my son and daughter had two children recently, and refused even the Vitamin K shot, Hep B vaccination, and all other vaccinations until they see a need.”

It was like a poker game for us. A month before birth with the pediatrician:
“I’ll give you vit K and silver eye drops but no hep b. Take away the stupid baby warmer give me the baby.”
“No we have to use the stupid baby warmer”
“No you dont you just need to use it to justify its (high cost) purpose. Since the beginning of time women have used skin to skin for baby warming”
“Since the beginning of time millions of babies died at the hands of their mothers” - I am not alerting that quote it is word for word

Now it’s all skin to skin. Hmm baby warmer were stupid

Until something goes wrong, baby becomes anoxic and you show up at the ER with a train wreck delivery wanting the poor OB to correct the issue. And then suing him if baby does not turn out perfect.

“...by keeping her for over 48 hours.” Nothing new. Candace, please do not take things so personally. Every patient in a hospital will have three or four doctors visiting for two minutes and adding charges to the bill, beeps and noises all night to prevent sleep, third world CNA’s doing the minimum to pay their bills, and gay chaplains pretending to be spiritual. Pray to the Lord and don’t take it personally.

Agreed, and it is a worthy discussion.

As I sit here contemplating what I expect to be meager reporting on the attack on America, I'm burdened to try to DO something that might make connections "I" have made, not so much because "I have made connections", but that too much history is being treated superficially and not being drilled into our heads.

I enlisted at 17 in 1965.

America at the time hade cowboys and indians, space sci-fi and war movies.

Looney Tunes was the cartoon forerunner, but others were equally entertaining and the psychology of MY America was pretty stable . . . grew up in the 50's and the bubble gum music of the time opened our brains up to all that sexual stuff no one would talk about.

Life was not cluttered nor complicated.

Sex, drugs and Rock n' Roll hadn't hit us much . . . yet.

Viet Nam hadn't been exposed . . . yet.

Politicians hadn't been exposed . . . yet.

Luckily she didn’t give birth at Mass. Children’s Hospital ... she would still be trying to get her child back years after giving birth.

Ya gotta pick your odds on this stuff. I’ve heard of home births where an ambulance was paid to be at the doorstep, just in case.

But it would presumably be a new sex once they got it back.

“Prayers up for your mom.”

Oh, thanks. I forgot “the rest of the story”. Her delusions only lasted over night and then she was fine. Still despises Biden and had no problem telling EVERYONE around her.

She had turned 98 two days before breaking her hip. Was walking with a walker two days later. Now in rehab wondering why therapy sessions are only five days a week instead of seven.

Yep, I came along over a decade later, but saw the big swing happening.

Didn’t of course realize at the time that it was all a plan.

“ We never saw it coming, and never anticipated we’d be where we are now”

Of my many many cousins siblings and friends who witnessed this, some perished, the one quote from my youngest cousin comes to mind reading this statement.

She said it was such a beautiful day weather wise, “it was sick how beautiful the weather was.”
