The electric Equinox will be offered with two battery sizes, front- or all-wheel drive and an estimated 300 miles of range.

General Motors' electric vehicle onslaught continues with the arrival of the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV on Thursday. Positioned below the recently revealed Blazer EV, the Equinox EV will offer two battery sizes and as much as 300 miles of estimated range. On top of that, Chevy says the Equinox EV will have a starting price of around $30,000. There's definitely a lot to like about this one.
The Equinox EV will ride on GM's scalable Ultium platform, but Chevy isn't revealing too many other details just yet. The company says two battery sizes will be available, the larger of which should be shared with the Blazer EV. The standard front-wheel-drive setup will produce 210 horsepower and 242 pound-feet of torque, while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration will offer 290 hp and 346 lb-ft. Do note: Both the smaller and larger batteries will be available with front-wheel drive, but Chevy says only the base model will have the smaller battery.

The LT will have a slightly less aggressive appearance than the RS.

As for range, it all depends on trim level, battery size and driveline. Rather than trying to spell it out, here's a handy-dandy chart.
Equinox EV Ranges Trim Driveline Range (estimated) 1LT FWD 250 miles 1LT FWD 300 miles 1LT AWD 280 miles 2LT & 3LT FWD 300 miles 2LT & 3LT AWD 280 miles 2RS & 3RS FWD 300 miles 2RS & 3RS AWD 280 miles Chevy says the Equinox EV will come standard with an 11.5-kilowatt AC charger (for Level 2 plugs) that can add up to 34 miles of range per hour. The fully loaded Equinox 3RS has an available 19.2-kW Level 2 charger, which can add 51 miles of range in an hour. Across the board, all Equinox EVs will have a maximum DC fast charging speed of 150 kW, and Chevy says this is powerful enough to add 70 miles of range in as little as 10 minutes.
Overall, we dig the look of the Equinox EV. The slim lighting elements work with the aerodynamic shape, and Chevy says the LT and RS trims are meant to give the Equinox two distinct personalities. However, Chevy confirmed that while wheel sizes will differ between the LT and RS models, the suspension tuning will be the same, so don't expect radically different on-road demeanors. The base Equinox EV will have 19-inch wheels, but 20- and 21-inch options are available on higher trims.

A 17.7-inch central touchscreen is optional.
Chevrolet
Moving inside, the Equinox EV's interior looks like Chevy's other recent products, and we can see a digital gauge cluster will be offered, though perhaps only on more expensive models. Chevy says a new 17.7-inch touchscreen display is optional, as are goodies like heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel and a hands-free liftgate. With the rear seats folded, the Equinox EV offers 57 cubic feet of cargo space.
Arguably the best feature available on the Equinox EV is GM's excellent Super Cruise hands-free driver-assistance tech, which is usable on more than 400,000 miles of premapped US and Canadian roads. Super Cruise isn't standard, sadly, but every Equinox EV does come with forward-collision warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking assist and more.
The Mexican-built 2024 Equinox EV will go on sale in late 2023, and Chevy is working to keep the starting price around $30,000. A limited-edition 2RS model will be the first to hit the road, and Chevy says the Equinox EV will be available for fleet customers, as well. The final specs and pricing info will be available sometime next year.
Not a bad-looking car, but still, they’re pushing EVs way too hard because the infrastructure isn’t there for them yet in most places. Until you start seeing large numbers of charging stations along rural Interstates and they begin approaching gas-station numbers, forget it. They’re a city-based novelty. And states like Commiefornia think they can just mandate an entire EV infrastructure into being in just ten years when they can’t even keep the existing lights on?
I don’t doubt that EVs will become a big thing, maybe in 20 or 30 years, but by then we may have something like hydrogen fuel cells or even better gasoline engines that makes battery power obsolete. Compare a modern gas engine to something from 40 or 50 years ago and the technological leap is insane. Most new cars probably have cleaner exhaust coming out than the air coming in if they’re in a big city.

True, we are at the Model T stage of EVs right now..................
What is Chevy’s recommendation as to how far from your house the vehicle has to be when charging?
Presumptuous
The assumption is that GM will be existent by the time the vehicle is offered for sale
Our Electric utility, Florida Power & Light, has just asked the Florida Utilities Commission for a $4 Per Kilowatt-Hour INCREASE! That would be a $46 Per Hour INCREASE on top of the regular COST to charge that EV!.................
Does it come with the dual golf bag racks and cup holders?
Notice that it doesn’t come with a trailer hitch.......................
EV’s are inferior in every way to ICE powered vehicles. They are going to force this sh!t on us.
Very few. Our Chevy dealer’s lot has only HUGE 4WD pickups ($90k+) and maybe 5 sedans that are too small..................
The market in America will determine the outcome
...if you're gay.
You think the woke Detroit big 3 going all in with EV production will allow cheap gas to be sold?
The Big 3 will lobby and kill cheap gas going forward. The war between auto makers and the petroleum industry is just getting started. Guess who will win?
One thing in their favor is that they have way fewer parts, and can almost be totally assembled without humans.
I saw a news piece the other day that showed some factory making the electric motors and there was a machine winding rotors or stators five at a time.
Just think of the labor involved in assembling ICE engines, and all the many, many small precision parts necessary and the precision torqueing of nuts and bolts and gaskets all over the place.
EVs could be manufactured at ten times the rate of ICE vehicles, or more..........................
Actually, there was never a Model T equivalency for the radical cast body technology Tesla’s soon to invade and capture the American EV market
How do city dwellers living in high rises or town houses with only street parking recharge their cars? Answer they can’t.
There is no Big 3.
GM, Ford and Fiat have lost market share to the point they are far from Big.
How? Like the free market for labor that no one here believes in? When the heroic and woke auto makers force congress to enact huge taxes on gasoline, is that the free market at work? The war between Big OIL and the Big woke 3 EV auto makers is just getting started.
Well then there is no reason that ALL vehicles can be made in the USA then. We need tariff and we need it bad.
EV auto makers are now at war with the one time ally, big oil.
Tesla is non union and is the third very big player in the current game
I observe and present a finding
