EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners

DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.

From FaceBook:

Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

Good job!

Strange! You had more to work with than I did, and my winning word was pure guess!

I was going to use one word for the second one, but found that it had been used as the word of the day. Weird game.

I use the same word every day and have a second go-to word in case the first one yields nothing. Like today.

Just as I was about ready to paint the door, I heard the yard guys start up, so that took care of that. I’ll have to do it as soon as they leave.

For now, I’ll do the filing. Again. I seem to always put it off instead of filing papers immediately. But it will look nicer, anyway, in case someone comes in.

I just use the exact same word everyday on the theory that one day it will be the answer and I’ll get my second 1/6.

Well, I guess you’re a lot smarter than I am. :)

I haven’t gotten a 1/6 yet. A couple of my friends have.

I use the same start word every day and if it doesn’t yield, I use a backup word with a different mix of vowels and common consonants.

Still, some days I’m the windshield and some days I’m the bug. LOL

I doubt that! If I were, I’d be where you are, and you’d be behind this computer whining about the Yard Guys and the federales and the tornados! LOL!

I was super surprised when I hit it this morning because usually, if the first two lines reveal nothing, I go 6/6 or X/6.

Now, I’m beat up. I got the filing done and got the door repainted and that’s it’ for the day. The door probably won’t pass close inspection, but they get what they pay for!

Hey, a freshly painted door is nothing to sneeze at.

Unless you’re allergic to fresh paint, I guess. I hadn’t really thought of that before.

Anyway, they can just not look a gift hearse in the mouth. Or, whatever.

For some reason, this paint doesn’t have much of an odor, for which I’m very glad! It was the glare of the sun off the door surface that bothered me. Noonish. In October. South-facing door.

There are a few little glitches in it, but if one isn’t looking for them, one won’t see them. I have to hide the paint, though, in case they DO come in. I’ll make sure I take it over to her next week when all the flurry of the inspection is done with.

I am just to antsy to use the same word to start... I look at the last day’s solution and riff off of that... no science behind it, but it keeps me engaged...

🤣

Sounds like a nuisance. I got next Sunday’s music ready, and I’ll be taking Kathleen to her art class at the library soon. Vlad will pick her up when it’s over, and I’ll go straight on to a choir practice.

Maybe try to find a word that starts with the same letter as the day of the week.

Tomorrow you can try “wonky.”

It was a nuisance but the door is painted now, and looks good. However, I’m not painting the inside of it any time in the near future. Just because I don’t want to. I like the white door!

I’m too old and set in my ways... NOT!

I’ll change up sooner or later. As long as it keeps working — plus, I always think I could miss out on that one-hit wonder thing if I keep changing the first word up. ;o]

I’ve been using my same starter word for a while. Once in a blue moon, I change it up, but that always seems to mess me up. LOL

It can be a gamble. There are times, like this morning, when my starter word doesn’t yield a single letter. (But it eliminates stuff.)

I got lucky with my backup word. It gave me four letters - in the correct order! There was only one possibility, so that worked out.

It doesn’t usually work that way. 😂

I think that the key will be to use a word that ends in the same letter as the day of the week!!

😯

I figure that if I am changing them up regularly, and I make a first row hit, then that will really mean that luck is with me!!

😂

My biggest challenge is when I don't get anything on row one, then throw out a second row word without a lot of thought (that is, the only requirement is that it doesn't use any already eliminated letters)... and it also doesn't yield any letters in place...

Then I am already on row three without a good clue as to what I am doing...LOL

😂

Yes, we’d all be a mess if God wasn’t looking out for us. Even more than we are, I mean.

Boy, ain’t that the truth!
