EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners

DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.

From FaceBook:

Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

LoL,
Small print strikes again!

Used part of the underground today that I’ve not used before .
Won’t be using it again. The acceleration was ...enough to cause physical harm. Cool architecture though.

When I was a youngster I seem to remember some science fiction made-for-TV movie that included a worldwide underground tube system. I don’t remember anything about it except that.

I get that. It was very painful for me to sneeze after the car accident that almost took my life. After 17 years, I couldn’t stand it any longer. I finally was close enough to a military installation to have a go at their expertise for reconstructive surgery. My take home instructions only said, “Don’t sneeze for three days.”

Weird how the body acts at times.

Good morning. Happy Twosday!

We actually had temps in the 40s this morning. Almost like spring - NOT.

I’m not quite sure where this came from, but today’s was a 2-fer.

Kitteh is surprised it’s morning, already!

Good morning.

I hope you had a good night.

I was up for about an hour around midnight, but went back to sleep until almost 0600.

The door is going to get painted today. Period.

Good morning.

Our temps are hovering around 46°, with a high in the 80s. A good day to paint the door, as long as the humidity is low.

Whoa! Good job!

This was another strange one from the depths of something unknowable. I thought I was going to be X/6 or at the least, 6/6. But here it is in a surprising twist.

See, I got 3 out of 5 letters in my first guess so a 2-fer was not all that surprising. You had only 1 out of 5 letters on your 2nd guess so a trio is amazing.

Not bad. The cat came around.

I’m going to Weight Watchers this morning, and there’s a series of activities in the afternoon.

Yes, AND the letter on my second guess wasn’t even in the right place. So a Triplet was very surprising!

Crazy game!! I hope no one is ever dumb enough to start betting on it! They’ll lose their shirts.

Tomorrow is the Big Inspection, so instead of keeping these places (four properties) up to snuff year-round, there has been a flurry of activity for the last two weeks. Since they came to this apartment last year, I don’t think they’ll come to this one this year. It’s always random. Maybe 10% of the apartments.

Saturday they spent the entire day cleaning the rain gutters.

It’s just like anything else. There’s never time or money to just maintain the properties well, but there’s time or money to prepare for an inspection.

The former would be easier and cheaper, but there you are.

Good morning!

Mine was weird too. My usual starter word yielded nothing, but my backup word was quite fruitful.

So I managed a three.

A good starting word seems to be vital... I am still not in the camp of using the exact same word everyday.... I go back and forth on that...

I lucked out (mucho letter elimination!) on getting a 3-spot today...

Exactly.

Now, the Yard Guys are out doing what they did on Thursday, and sometimes, they don’t show up for weeks.

I was going to put the last coat of paint on the door, but then I heard one of them starting up the gas edge trimmer. So now they’re even trimming trees. Keystone Kops.
