EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

W00t!
Well, the afternoon matinee happened and thanks to my son, it was a great afternoon! I have officially told him that I want “Oblivion” for Christmas, even though I’m not a Tom Cruise fan.
I’ll see you all in the AM!
I’m glad you had a good time!
And have a good night, too.
Good morning. Happy Friday!
Don’t look so shocked, kitteh. You knew we’d make it eventually.
We had a frost warning when I woke up this morning. I’m so not ready for this.
And today’s 3-spot.

Kitteh is surprised it’s Friday already!
Good morning. I hope you had a good night.
I had a touch of insomnia, but it wasn’t too bad, as those things go. Now of course, I’m waiting for the water to heat up.
The movie was long, but the afternoon was short. It’s been a long time since something like that happened. 😊
I’ll take it!
I love it when my brain works like it’s supposed to. (Except for the occasional dyslexia.)
Today’s effort still has me with a Triplet.

Whadja see?
We watched “Oblivion,” with Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman. I’m not much of a Cruise fan, but I’ll watch anything with Morgan Freeman in it. He’s quite the versatile character actor. It was a fun movie.
Oblivion was fun. There were enough plot twists to keep it interesting but the overall trope has become rather cliche in SciFi. I won’t put in spoilers for those who haven’t seen it yet.
Cruise usually does a good job. And he was stunning in “A Few Good Men.” I try to avoid judging the Hollywood talent by their personal lives. If they can act, they can.
Yeah, I sometimes find myself falling into the “personal life” trap, but then I end up watching movies by that person anyway, so I’m thinking it really doesn’t matter.
I’ve just never been a Tom Cruise fan, long before he ever got into Scientology. My son, on the other hand, likes him because he does his own stunts, and because of it, FS has lots of his movies.
But you’re right — there were enough plot twists to keep it interesting. I haven’t seen many movies since my divorce a lifetime ago because I don’t like to go to the theater alone. All my life, since I was a very short person, I’ve had a movie buddy. Until suddenly, I didn’t.
So seeing movies at home is a treat. Much better with my favorite movie buddy.
Good Morning!
My brain only worked at four train speed today...

Good morning. I’ve already been to Walmart, and next, I’ll make a casserole and re-read today’s science assignment with Frank and Kathleen.
Wow. Walmart, already? Was it almost empty? I’d love to shop early at Walmart, but that won’t happen for a while.
So I’ll just keep ordering online and getting deliveries. These days, it’s much less stressful.
The shower wasn’t too bad, not quite warm enough, but warm enough to last almost through the entire shower, so that was good. I need a haircut. Desperately.
Today, I’ll just write letters and cards and call it good.
Good morning!
And good job!! I have 60 games in Foursies, and the Triplets are about half that.
Fivers are about four less that the Foursies.
I took Vlad. He likes to ring up at the self-checkout. There were more order-pullers in the aisles than customers.
Yep, that time of day the stalkers have gone back to the catacombs and the order-pullers rule. But they’re very kind, and know how to find absolutely everything!
PW is going to Utah to visit her folks in November, but FS will stay here. I let her use my shuttle credits. We may talk while she’s gone. He seems to think I’m not serious.
But I AM!
It’s quite a bit cooler this morning than it has been and trying to be cloudy again. And I have some overwhelming nausea. I was hoping that was done with, but just because I’m down to 10+ symptoms a day doesn’t mean they’re all going to be the same. I need some ginger snaps.
Afternoon. We’re back from the Envirothon meeting. James was supposed to have turned the oven on for the casserole half an hour before we got home, but he did not. Now I am quite irritated.
Well, darn. I’m very sorry about that. I would be quite irritated, as well.
Mona has been over here several times today. Had to borrow the “key pin” so she could unlock her phone and take out the SIM card. Lost the SIM card. Can’t afford another phone. I want to go to bed. Just because I don’t want to deal with the world right now.
Oh, dear. I’d like to go to bed, too, but the casserole is finally done, and then we have choir practice.
