EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners

DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.

From FaceBook:

Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

It’s about 4/5 of a mile to Kroger. I was going to take a walking stick, because it’s been so long since I walked there, but I changed my mind. About half-way there, I wished I had brought them both. My thighs were telling me what a bad girl I am for not walking more.

Today’s wasn’t easy, and I think if I had stayed with my original starting word, I would have tanked it, too.

But tomorrow is another game!

(You’ve been on my prayer list since you were in Harm’s Way!)

I don’t ever get that long a sleep at one time! I think five hours is the max, but I’m glad you’re doing better!

Now, I need to write to Charlie!

I’ll be back!

If you could win ‘em all, nobody would play. People are kind of dumb that way.

I actually remember a couple of Start Trek episodes (with William Shatner, not these new dumb versions) where people were in paradise and the Enterprise crew kicked them out. We have a firm species belief that for life to be worth living there has to be struggle.

I’m questioning that more and more every day.

There are a lot of options these days. I went with the least invasive procedure, Urolift, no cutting, no destruction of tissue, just a few staples to prop the passage open. Outpatient. Quick. Low pain. Quick recovery. No loss of function.

Medication is the only less invasive option, and that wasn't cutting (sorry) it for me.

I know we’re a non-political haven on FR and all, but this Martha’s Vineyard thing is it’s own OFST.
