EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more
Yes, you did!! And he now has a driver’s license!! LOL!
That entire first thread was really an amazing read. The next few were good too, but then we began to lose our UTers. I think Sion was the first to go.
But it was a lot of fun to build the ship and equip it. Including the goats! Now I think we move just to move and not take up so much bandwidth.
Life rolls on. As the song says, “I’m just a pilgrim on this road.”
A road on which one needs to be alert for teenbro drivers.
Who knew? Some teenbro drivers are better drivers than others!
I got a text late yesterday afternoon from the Other Folks. They were in Vegas and headed for St George. I probably won’t hear from them again until they land in LR on Tuesday.
Excellent results at Mass today. We had a huge crowd and almost all our choir members.
Wonderful!
Because of the change in when our ward meets, I didn’t get up in time to go to church, and no one bothered to ask me if I needed a ride. I watched it, but between the camera and the sound going wonky in turns, it was rather unsettling.
FD sent me a few texts, saying they were thinking about getting a husky. Cat killers by nature. Diggers by nature. Never grow up and want to run, because they are working dogs. Of all dog breeds they could have picked.... Anyway, she said they needed an excuse to walk. Why? If you want to walk, you just open the door and step outside! LOL!
Oh, that would be a very difficult pet!
Not my choice in a dog by any means. If you want to walk, get a pug. Cute, smart and loyal.
Or some kind of small mixed breed from the shelter.
Mongrels and/or shelter dogs are the best. If one has to have a dog.
I’d rather have a cat, thanks, and plan on it asap!
Cats don’t have to be taken for walks in all kinds of weather.
But cats can’t be fenced.
No, they go right over. But everyone says their dogs “just got out,” so it’s the same.
Truth!
I’m off to do laundry. Be back in about 45 minutes.
Neither can I. At least, not for long!
Happy Moday, Wordle Players!!
I had just spent 45 minutes in the laundry room playing word games, so...

Wow, I had no idea that the undead threads have such a long history!
I’ll have to read some when I get some free time...
Thanks for the info!
Good Monday Morning!
Well, I had a tough Wordle start, and an almost disastrous finish...

“Phew” is right!

Your first word and mine were useless!
But you still beat the X/6!
The Undead Thread started out in the Smoky Back Room, but Stag crashed through the wall, and we thought, well, as long as we have to fix it, we may as well give it a whole new look. And it morphed beautifully into a spaceship with three Habitats and their own time zones.
Really a good read!
I that a cali?
She’s a pretty one to have Second Breakfast with!
I’ll have to get up from here in a minute and get dressed. I had a nap of almost two-and-a-half hours.
I dreamed of singing before the alarm rang at 0230, both hearing people sing and doing a lot of it myself. Golly, I had a good voice!! I could hear all the tenor notes perfectly, so it was fun to sing along. And it was Christmas again.
Both are good omens, so I’ll wait and see. At least I didn’t have any nightmares.
