EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more
What makes you say that? Don't they bathe?
Seriously, unless there's also a separate budget for the Anglo ministry, there shouldn't be a separate budget for the Hispanic ministry. It's the Parish Member ministry, right?
Well, it’s more complicated than that, because a lot of things are “everything ministry,” while a few are separated. The Hispanic budget includes fees for a Spanish-speaking priest for some events and some bilingual or Spanish-language books.
There’s no real reason that these items shouldn’t be in the Liturgy budget on an “everything” basis, except that probably, “That’s the way we’ve been doing it.”
The Parish Council could rule that, “It shall be that way,” using their superpower, if they just get up the gumption to tell the business manager, “We’re changing this because we said so.”
Some of our parishioners are teenbros, so ...
Does the Teenbro ministry have a budget?
They’re given food.
If you give a Teenbro a cookie ...
He’ll leave a bunch of crumbs and you’ll get ants!
Heh, certainly she's a legend in her own mind.
As you suggested, the parish council chair (Victoria, to make it easier) said, "Why aren't aren't the Spanish lector books in Liturgy's budget? Why aren't the Spanish RCIA books in Education's budget?"
"Dunno," I said. So she said we should do it that way in this budget cycle, and I said she should notify some people about that, to maintain proper chain of command. She seems to be finding her way into the role of Princess Leia.
Looks like she's forcing her way into the role of Princess Leia.
Happy Friday, Wordlers!
Here’s today’s effort, which was “why don’t I try THIS word?” again.

I saw what you did there.
Good morning. Happy Friday!
We got warmer weather and rain to melt away all the snow (which wasn’t much). Now they’re saying the rain will turn to snow again later today. Hopefully we won’t get frozen, wet roads for Saturday.
I don’t know if our snow removal service is the same as last year’s or different, but they took leaf blowers to the sidewalks yesterday. That cleared away all but the footprints, which were packed down so they didn’t blow away. That meant patches of ice everywhere until they melted. Who comes up with these ideas?
I managed a 3.

Victoria has nerve, and also business skills. She’s a pharmacist and managed a chain at one point. She just didn’t know what she could do. The Dark Side had cast a cloud of deception.
Good Friday Morning!
Very chilly overnight, but stayed above freezing... one more tonight, then back up to normal...
A very lucky 2-spot today, the word just popped into my head...

Good morning. Did you have a good night?
We’ll be lucky to get up to 40° today. The furnace has been mostly running since yesterday around noon, and I haven’t been warm since I moved here.
The text messages went berserk last night, so I was up late again.
I dreamed about Christmas, about riding a bus, and about a stranger, all of which are good omens, some of which have to do with obtaining my goal. I’m surprised I remembered even a little of them, as the alarm rang and woke me up. Usually, when the alarm rings, any memories of my dreams are gone.
Excellent!!
That happens to me fairly often, so I run with it! I usually get the Triplets, but I know it works!
Good job on the Triplet!!
Your snow removal service sounds like a lot is to be desired.
I’ve decided to rename the obnoxious neighbor who uses his gas blower for every single leaf, on a one-by-one basis, “Bobnoxious” instead of “Bobby.”
Hi! The funeral this morning went excellently, everyone got delivered to science team, the van is back, and I’m going to nap for a bit.
