EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

Good Almost Last Day of the Year Morning!
Hoping that the sun can burn through some of the clouds today... we’ve been in an extremely cloudy period of late... need more sun!
Four train riding as the year draws near to an end...

Round of applause to Ratboy!
That is a big plus!
Good luck getting it back in service!
Frank is just helping his friends because it’s fun. In a way. I guess.
Frank and Vlad are going to Your Local Game Store for Magic: The Gathering this evening. A driver will pick him up from chicken-processing at 4:00.
Sorry about your zombie furnace, Nully. I hope it doesn’t cost an arm, leg and first-born child to repair or replace. It’s for sure you need a furnace in that climate!
Excellent work!
We have fog, so yeah, dreary weather.
Well, the good thing is that Frank is learning something. Whether it will be fun or profitable in the future will be up to him I suspect.
Did I say I’m tired of being cold?
I see a Christmas card from you is in the mail today! YAY!!
Now, I need to get a few lines written to Charlie and then go make the bed. Or vice-versa.
I forgot to mention: nice job on the 3-spot!
Yes, dreary has been the best description of late...
Thanks!
It reminds me just a bit of Germany, but much wetter through the year than there, and not quite as beautiful. It’s the mountains in the background that I miss.
I’m cold, too, even though it’s not that cold outside. It’s just in my bones.
I’m glad you got a card. There will another one.
It’s time for me to try and make the best of a cold place, but y’know? I’m dreading this time of day, now. I have no clue why. Maybe it’s because I don’t want to wake up after 90 - 120 minutes and not be able to go back to sleep for two or three hours.
I gathered up the stuff (storage tub and box) the Nativities were in and brought them out of the closet into here, and realized if I don’t work on putting the stuff away tomorrow, I’ll have a mess in here until Monday. Or Tuesday.
But even that little bit of effort wore me out and got me breathing hard. This is not good. Once again, I’m stuck indoors and can’t even walk around Walmart. That’s OK. I’ll be back in Utah in no time and life will get back to normal! Whatever that is.
Imagine you’re taking a nap for a couple of hours, and then you’ll listen to a talk or read for a bit, and then go back to sleep.
I finished Diagon Alley this afternoon. I’ll take pictures tomorrow when it’s light and send them to you.
Well. That was a wasted effort. Now I have nausea, so I’ll be here for a while. *sigh*
I’m looking forward to seeing the pics, though, so that was worth getting up for. ;o]
Sorry to hear about the nausea. I’m about to go to bed. We’ve been watching “Northern Exposure.”
Another sweet little floof!
Good morning. Did you sleep well?
How was “Northern Exposure?” I’ve heard about it, but never watched it.
I watched the Christmas special of “Death In Paradise” yesterday afternoon, and it started out pretty lame. Then, about halfway through, it picked up speed and ended pretty satisfactorily.
It still doesn’t have the panache that the first two seasons had or the next three after they killed off Ben Miller’s character and put Kris Marshall’s out to pasture, but the writers are fairly good, so I’ll stick with it. I’m interested to see how the rest of the season will be. I think this is the 13th season.
I was SO up past my bedtime last night. I have no idea what’s going on with me.
Good morning, and not bad. We watched “Northern Exposure” religiously when it was in production, and we’ve had the DVDs since they were issued. We have favorite episodes that we turn on.
I went to Walmart as soon as it got light. We needed catsand. There wasn’t much available, except in 50 lb. bags. I decided to get a smaller container, even though it costs more per pound, but from now on, we’ll have to get catsand whenever it’s available.
Ah. That sounds like me with “Death In Paradise.” “Endeavour” was quite a bit like that too, but this will be the last season, as I think it will “meet up” with “Morse.” At least, the time period the former is set in would bring it to the era of the latter.
I have yet to buy the last season of “DIP” and “Endeavour” but I’m waiting for the prices to go down on the used DVDs.
I also watched “Blake Mysteries,” earlier in the week, but it gives one the impression that Dr Blake will be coming back. He left the show because of sexual assault charges which were later dropped, but he seemed adamant about never going any farther with the series. I think I’m watching to see how long the fan base will hang on without him actually returning to the show.
I had not heard of Blake Mysteries. They make some interesting shows in Australia.
