EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

I’ll try to get good picture of Kathleen. Maybe I can persuade DP to come by flattering his photography skills!
Kathleen has had two practices for the performance, which is like free lessons. This will be the end of the riding season until late Feb/early March.
For what it’s worth, I have a photo of an orchid that DP took one time when I was there. I framed it and it’s hanging over my bed, next to the photo of an orchid I got when I worked in a camera shop in Reseda CA, done by a professional photographer. DP’s is every bit as good as the professional’s and you can tell him I said so!
I would love to see photos of Kathleen in the competition!
Happy Caturday, Puzzlers!
This was the only word it could have been with just three letters! Good luck and have a great day!

Good Morning!
Nice job on the 3-spot, ‘Face!
I seem to have a daily seat on the four train lately...

(Better than those 5, 6, or X rides!)
Thanks!
Good on ya for hitting a four rather than the 5,6 or X! I’ll take what I can get, because that’s what I do! LOL!
I hope you have a great day. I’d rather have dry and sunny, but I’ll take whatever comes until I can leave. Whenever that is!
I’ll tell him you said so!
I have Kathleen’s blue jeans on the Quick Dry cycle. I didn’t realize they weren’t in the load I put on before bed.
Things will fall into place for all of you today. Enjoy the performances!
I’m looking forward to some photos from DP’s camera!
The horse riding was a success. I will text you some snaps. DP’s pictures will need to be processed in various ways.
As the famous Joe Bastardi says, “Enjoy the weather, it’s the only weather that we have...”
Excellent news!!
I managed to get the bed made and the dishes done, but I’m still trying to recover from standing for all those hours on Thanksgiving. I don’t know if I’ll ever get back to the way I was at the start of November, but I’ll try to take things easy and hope it all works out for the best.
Almost all the leaves are off the trees, now, and it’s just a bleak Arkansas winter, looking like all the others I had experienced. Until I moved here, all my visits but one were in the winter because of James’ birthday.
There. I fixed it. ;o])
We are having more sound and light shows and it will be going on well into the evening.
Unngh. Pouring rain.
Unnngh. I took some bros over to church for some advance setup. Adriana wanted a pop-up canopy, but then when I brought it, Andrea didn’t want it. No worries, we left it in a nearby spot in case it starts raining at an inconvenient time!
I’m cold and I don’t want to go, but I’ll make the effort because FS sounded happy when I told him I would.
I just want it to be over with, because of the noise and confusion that accompanies these things. The migraine is still with me and may well ramp up before the evening is over with.
It hasn’t stopped raining, though the sound and light shows have dissipated. One thing is sure...I’ll wear my heavy coat!
It’s not raining here, but it’s gray and gloomy. I sent Vlad to pick up Frank from his friend’s house.
I’m glad there are enough drivers to go pick up the wanderers when necessary, just to save you the additional stress.
How is your foot? And your sciatica? You haven’t mentioned the latter for several days, so I’m just curious. As always.
It’s raining and snowing at the same time here.
Sorry. I was taken captive and surrounded by about 100 noisy, cranky people.
I probably could have come up with something clever, here, to describe your weather, but the best I can say is “Snain.”
The snain in strain falls mainly from the front steps...
...to the concrete.
