EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

Interesting fact (or not) out of nowhere.
Someone here in NYS proved you could pass the multiple-choice regent's exam for - was it Math? - by just putting C for every answer.
That's basically because our bright-blue leadership believes in gutting standards.
For those not familiar with NYS, there are diplomas and Regents diplomas. Regents diplomas mean you took the much harder Regents classes instead of the standard classes, and that you passed the exam. In essence, it means you didn't waste 4 years of High School.
Or, at least it meant that once. Now I have no idea what it means.
Just curious. Do the uplifting talks actually uplift? Or are they really Uplifting(tm) Talks?
Can we throw in next year, too?
That one needs a pocket protector.
I suspect that’s application dependent. Which application is it happening in?
Everything across the board — here, Facebook, anywhere else I type something, such as email. I just noticed it this morning, so I don’t know if it’s something I unknowingly did or if it’s new, but it’s driving me batty. Er.
I found this.
type “Auto Complete’ in the search bar. Click on it and turn the feature “OFF”.
That didn’t work. Maybe I need to shut down and re-boot, because it’s still doing the auto complete.
My brain is too fried to mess with it any more tonight. I’ll see what happens tomorrow. Thanks, though!! 😀
We made it home from destinations A, B, and C but still have to go out for choir practice. Hopefully it will be be a reasonable length, since we’re doing the same songs on Saturday and Sunday.
I hope it works.
I just ignore that stuff because I type past it too quickly.
It’s distracting, especially with a migraine.
But re-booting didn’t solve the problem, so I’ll have try again in the morning.
I was going to have that blessing tomorrow, but it looks like it’s happening tonight.
Good.
PW even offered to rub my neck and head like she does my FS, which always gets rid of his migraine. Not with my arthritic neck! (Whiplash from two car accidents.)
Years ago, I knew a guy who could get rid of my migraines within five minutes, just by lifting my head off my neck. He’d just hold it while my body relaxed, and when he finally let go, the migraine was gone. I don’t think that’s what she had in mind, though...
I hope the blessing helped a lot. If I knew someone who could lift your head off, I’d recommend him ...
Taaaarrrd here, but everything is done until late morningish.
The headache is still with me but that’s no big deal. I guess it will come and go until its done coming and going and I’ll just have to hang in there.
Maybe it will dissipate by the time they come to get me for the party that I’m now NOT looking forward to.
Good morning. I hope you feel better soon and that the party is nicer than you expect. Smile, and think about a little kitten and a great big rabbit!
I finally found it. It was a little more complex than I expected but hopefully, when I reboot, it will work. Otherwise, I’ll keep doing it until the darn thing gets the idea I don’t need its help.
WHOA! Da bunneh is bigger dan da floof!
Good morning. I hope you had a good night, and that you slept well, with no cats or other disturbances.
When FS came over last night, he brought a small ice/heat pack for me to use and that thing needs to be washed! What an odor! I can’t even describe it. Anyway, I may use it but we’ll see.
And it seems he and PW didn’t believe me when I said my ministering people were the bishop and his wife. Usually, we get two ladies and two men. Anyway, the bishop cleared that up in a hurry.
The church has taken to using an older couple to minister to an older widow/divorcee, so it’s really not uncommon to me.
That seems like a very practical choice.
I get the impression that FS and PW react to new information by treating the messenger as if she's lying or deluded. That's not very polite.
Not bad, thanks. The busies start this morning and run through tomorrow evening, but we have lots of drivers.
Kathleen's horse show is the first thing. We need to get there about 10:00, which is the start time. She's in the second performance group.
Good luck to Kathleen on her performance today!
Most of the “disbelief” comes from PW as “she’s really smart, Mom,” so FS will just follow along with whatever she says. However, he’s beginning to learn that I’m the same ol’ Mom I’ve always been and he can trust me because I AM a mom. I won’t lie to him. Other people will.
We have a sound and light show this morning. I don’t need it. I’m so sick of rain and gloomy days!
