EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

I was wearing sweat pants and a t-shirt, which is one kind of “decent,” and I changed into a skirt and blouse.
w00t!
PW just sent me a text asking if I was going to go to the Christmas party with them Saturday (last time there was a party, the answer to my query was, “we don’t do that stuff,”) or something similar so I was surprised. But then came, “I’m singing.” And, “I’m bringing desserts. And salad and rolls.” Now I understand the invitation.
I don’t know if my migraine will be gone enough by then. It flared up again this morning, so I’m not optimistic.
I’m cold.
Two guys who somewhat resemble Mutt and Jeff are outside trying to vacuum up leaves that have been through 2 days of rain.
It’s not going smoothly.
Right now they’re trying to blow-dry them, I guess.
The Princess thinks it’s interesting.
Last year they didn’t even try so I’m surprised to see them out there.
Yes, we have one of those guys here, who was trying to blow them away. In the rain.
No surprise to see him out there, but he steered clear of my apartment.
I’m not cold right now: it’s 76 in here, because teh bros were using the oven. However, I’m anxious and jittery.
It’s 74° in here, but the thermostat is set for 72°, so the furnace isn’t going to cycle anytime soon. It’s 58 Fs outside and for the moment it isn’t raining. More is on the way for this evening.
The mail has been late all week long so it looks like our substitute has a substitute, as it’s not due to be delivered until 2000 tonight. That’s OK. All the bills are paid, so I won’t expect any statements for another 10 days. Unngh.
BTW: I know we weren’t supposed to go to the NYTIMES today due to their writers strike.
I actually took a little pleasure about it being a NYTIMES link today when I solved the Wordle.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Unnnghness is definitely a thing.
It looks like it’s going to rain again. I need to make a Forestry quiz for tomorrow.
They’d lose too much in advertising if they didn’t publish the Wordle!
I just saw the mail carrier outside, handing off some of her mail and packages to another mail carrier. It all has to be delivered before they go back to the barn tonight, for what that’s worth.
(I can’t recall last year being so painful but the constant dampness and cold is taking its toll. I think I need a heating pad for when I’m sitting here.)
The rain will start up again any minute now, from the looks of the skies, and I’m going to go get somewhat ready for bed. I hope I do better at the sleep thing than I did last night. But don’t be surprised if I show up again in a little while.
I hope you get a good night’s rest. I was looking at the materials for the forestry quiz and thought I’d given the group the wrong pages to study several weeks ago, but it turns out I was just mixing up the middle school assignment with the high school assignment, so it’s all good.
Eeeeek, my brain!
Forty-five minutes of “sleep” and here I am, with the head throbbing. Tomorrow, I’ll see about getting a blessing for Saturday and Sunday, so I can go to the party AND church.
I hope this trend doesn’t continue. If it does, I hope I can change it when I start to sort and pack.
Happy start of the weekend, Epople!
I scared my little self again. Crikey.

Two days of dismal showings and then this. My Twofers now total eight.
Good morning. I hope you got back to sleep and that you’re able to get some help to get through the weekend.
My morning activity is make the quiz. My afternoon activity is Envirothon meeting then take Frank to his friend’s house. My evening activity is choir. Then collapse.
It’s raining. Jake got wet, the dope.

It's scary out there: take this!
Good morning. Happy Friday!
I didn’t know they made pocket kittehs.
We’re back to seasonably cold weather. But we have sun. So I guess it’s an OK trade-off.
No unusual dog activity this morning so I should be rested for the owrk day.
Should be.
Good job on the 2, Face. I got a 3.

It’s rainy, foggy and 100% humid. It will be rainy and dismal for the next five days. Hey. Wait. Didn’t I say that two days ago?
I have to shower, then write to Charlie and do dishes, then maybe get some Christmas cards done and out. That’s my morning. In the afternoon, I’m dead.
I’ll watch the last episode of “A Touch of Frost” today. It’s better than I expected it to be, but each episode is 90 minutes, and sometimes, it just doesn’t move fast enough for my ADHD brain.
Maybe I’ll straighten up the mess in here this afternoon.
I need that tiny squee! It’s VERY dangerous out there!
Good morning. I hope you slept well.
It sounds like you have a busy day ahead.
The headache is worse this morning, so I’ll talk to FS and see if he can snag someone later on for me. It took almost three hours for me to go back to sleep last night. Then I had stupid “distant” dreams, which means that whatever is going to happen will take a while.
So it’s off the shower!
Thanks!
Good job for you, too!
I always figure the Twofer is a lucky guess, but it doesn’t matter — I’ll take it. Triples are in the same category, but just a little more work, and if I could, I’d fill my stat sheet with Triples!
