EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

Break out the drinks with the little umbrellas!
Thanks!
I was quite a bit back for awhile..... lately it seems that when i get it down to 2, I end up adding more to the 5s....
Do you have a chance at gaining those 10 degrees today?
Hope so. I’ve got a full dance card.
IT’S 34°!!!!
#1 and done. Less than a minute total.
👍🏻
LOL! Good job, Tyson!!
Afternoon, all. I’ve almost got the weekend’s music arranged. I just need Asuncion to identify a song for me: there are a lot of different ones with the same name.
I wondered where you’d gone off to. I hope Ascuncion can help you find the right one!
I made a loaf of wheat bread, but I don’t think I let it raise long enough before baking it. It’s the first time I’ve used this recipe, but I’ll try it again, maybe on a warmer day. I think my apartment was too cold. And I was too impatient.
I wish I had done it last week when I first got the idea to try the dough cycle on the bread machine. I like it much better than letting it bake in the machine, but I think I’ll use my own recipe, next time.
The author of the recipe said to use “a damp towel or a cheap shower cap” for the proofing. What a clever idea! Dollar Tree, here I come for shower caps!
When it cools a little more, I’ll cut a slice off and see how it tastes.
*tagline*
Now I’m going to take Kathleen to her art class at the library. I hope the bread tastes good!
I’m thinking 2952 and 2953 should not have been posted one right after the other.
I’m assuming Kathleen isn’t one of the strange things.
Funny, you! LOL!
It was good, but not as good as I was expecting. I sent FS a text when I first started to put the ingredients into the machine, asking him if he wanted to stop by after work and take the rest home (after I’d sampled it) but I haven’t heard from him, so I guess it’s a “no.” I seem to get that a lot, here, for some reason.
Well, I’ll stick around a while longer and see if he shows up. If he’s not here by 1700, he probably won’t be here at all. I’ll probably have to cut it in smaller portions and freeze it, or I’ll end up tossing it.
Oh, Kathleen is pretty strange.
Kitteh is ready for Hmpf Day!
Good morning. I hope you had a good night.
FS finally texted the “Sorry, Mom, but...” and indicated he’d be by today. We’ll see.
I had tentatively planned to go to the ladies’ get-together today, but the migraine is still nagging me. All it would take is an unfamiliar setting and the headache would be full-blown again. I don’t need that. So I’ll stay home.
Good morning. Happy Humph Day!
We’re back to whiplash in the thermometer. It was 52 fs this morning. We had rain most of yesterday. We’re supposed to get a lot of rain again today. Then it will dry out for a while.
Wordle started out really good today, but it was back to 4s after all.
