EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

Indeed!
It dries out too quickly here in the high desert.
Back from breakfast and Walmart and Charlie’s letter isn’t going to get written until tomorrow.
I’m still messing around with the renter’s insurance. It seems they tried to do autopay, which I have never approved, and they used the old account — the one that charged me $10 a month for the pleasure of them using my money.
So they arbitrarily cancelled my insurance. She was going to reinstate me (for a mere $35) and I asked her to look for some other agency. I’d rather pay a few dollars extra than have Progressive in my business.
Unngh!
And the money they have now that you verified was posted?
They’ll refund that with interest, right?
Crikey, what a bunch of rotters!
According to them, it was “returned because the account was closed.” No. It wasn’t, and no. It isn’t. And also no, it didn’t show up as refunded.
The next cheapest was insurance company was $50 +/- a month, which is about 2-1/2 times more than what I’m paying. So I had to reinstate the old one. In tornado country, I don’t dare be without it.
Another payday when I just want to sit down and have a really good cry.
I could name the reasons but it would be too depressing for the Undeaders. Or anyone else who wanders by.
Cute kittah and Good Morning
Good morning. I hope you have a great weekend!
Thank you and may you and yours have a great weekend also …. A Merry Christmas to everyone
What a great curious kitteh!
Good morning.
I hope you slept well.
Do you have any fun things planned for today?
It’s supposed to be James’ birthday “party” today, but I don’t know what time, for sure. They always do things so late. And I’m always wired by the time I get home. Unngh.
Good morning. Not bad, thanks. We have the Spanish Advent Retreat today: music, fellowship, and inspirational talks from our deacon and another theologically-inclined gentleman, Don Andres.
DP is playing the guitar for the first half, before lunch, and then he gets to go home. Don Manuel will play the second half.
Sounds like a peaceful, uplifting day. I hope it goes well.
Maybe DP will inspire the hairy layabouts to get off their collective duffs and do something out of the house.
I’m going to get off my own duff and make a loaf of bread. If it turns out well, I’ll make a second loaf. I can always give one to the Birthday Boy and his sweet wife.
Happy Caturday, Wordlers!
Today’s was a bit of a struggle, but I got there in the end. The fight for the right letters turned it into an unpretty pattern so even that was no fun. (It looks like a seal, balancing a ball....)

Good Morning!
The weather forecasters promise that we will see the SUN for at least a few hours today... 😎 hope that they are correct because the next several days will again be cloudy here... ☁️
at least it has warmed up a bit...
As is often the case, a lucky row two led to a guessable row three...

It seems your tornado’s insurance is more costly than your Hurricane’s.
You’re absolutely right, Bob! So I’m moving back to where it’s cheaper for me to live.
Excellent job!
We’re supposed to have gloomy days for the next week, with or without rain.
Let me know when you’re ready to restock your bookshelf.
