EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners

DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.

From FaceBook:

Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

Good morning. I slept tolerably. It’s hard to get comfortable with the sciatica. I hope Mona feels better after your talk!

I’m going to Weight Watchers this morning, and Kathleen has an activity at the library in the afternoon.

My Foursies and Fivers are tied once again.

I think I should have waited for my smart pills to kick in. My brain feels like a bull in a china shop.

Friday the 13 falls on Tuesday this month!

Thanks. Mona is one of those people that was told in her childhood that she was high-strung, and she then reinforced that for the rest of her life so far. Perhaps she can change her mantra to something more positive.

I’ll be painting the door again today or tomorrow. Yesterday was such a gorgeous day, even though the humidity was still higher than I like, it was a sunny day with no clouds whatsoever. It’s supposed to be this way through Saturday.

What a precious little face.

Kitteh looks like he/she is pondering life’s greatest mysteries.

Looks like a little meezer, too.

Got a three today. There just wasn’t much else it could be with the letters I had.

Good luck with the weather and the door. I’ve been to Weight Watchers. Now I’m trying to find enough gumption for the next thing.

Good job!!

I changed my start word, so it took me much longer.

Still, it wasn’t X/6 so that’s OK!

Tomorrow will probably be Door Day.

I’m not quite ready for the Next Thing, but I will be soon. I hope.

I’m arranging lyrics for next Sunday, and then I’ll do the next thing after that.

FWIW, I adored your Queen and was always an admirer of her. I liked that she wasn’t afraid to try new things, like being in films and a commercial. And whatever else she did that I missed, being so far away!

I loved her little skit with Paddington Bear, too.

A British friend of mine who lives in Maine has headed home to the UK for two weeks to mourn the Queen with her family and friends.

Yes, the little skit with Paddington was quite touching.

I watched a good mini-series of the Queen, called “The Crown.” I don’t know how accurate it is, but I’m sure the scriptwriters tried very hard to keep it as close to real as possible.

There are four seasons, I believe, and maybe there will be one more. It’s really quite binge-worthy. I think it’s on Acorn. I’ll have to check.

I need to sort some papers and then maybe the Next Thing will present itself. Maybe.

Good luck on your music arranging. ;o]

I’ve seen the first and some of the second season.

I did hear somewhere that Her Majesty watched it, but I’m not sure if that’s true.

I heard the same thing about Her Majesty watching it, but if it was on the Interwebs, it has to be true, right? ;o]

All in all it was pretty good, but the third season (I think) they changed the actress who played the Queen, and she was much better for that period of Her Majesty’s life, I thought. I don’t think the original actress would have done as good a job.

It’s a good series, all told.

Good deal!

I got the paper sorting done, then went on to fold and put away the clothes that were washed yesterday, since they were all dry this morning.

But that will be about it for this day. My back is killing me.

Most of my pain is in my right thigh now. I wonder if I have a blood clot. I have a doctor appointment in a couple of weeks.
