EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

That time of night, and as with most things unexpected, I had no response except that, “I want to try to go to church.”
They look at me and see a healthy older person, fit and active. Not so much. I’ve been stuck behind four walls for over 30 years because of CFIDS, only doing what is absolutely necessary.
And of course, here, I haven’t been able to even do as much of that as I’ve wanted. So it’s even worse. My sanity is at stake, so I really do need to move back to Hurricane, so at least I can walk SOME places!
I think anyone who uses “You chose to get pregnant” should be forced to baby-sit a colicky baby.
Oh, good job!! ;o]
Millenials. Got it.
Now I have to go sort pills?
Come to think of it, that sounds like a novel Ray Bradbury would have written. Or maybe Kurt Vonnegut.
Tell me about it.
The daughter who still speaks to us had serious colic issues. I would come home at the end of a work day and Mrs. ArGee would just hand her to me with a “HERE!” so I could pace with her for a while.
Well, the author Nelson DeMille wrote a novel called “Night Fall” about Flight 800 that crashed just after takeoff from NYC en route to Paris. One of the characters in the book was a blonde who spoke in questions.
Excellent book by an excellent author, if you’re interested!
FS had colic for a while, but it was short-lived. I always thought it was associated with getting his days and nights mixed up. Mr ‘Face wouldn’t even change diapers on the baby so I had no help from him. It’s OK. I loved my son, and his strange nights just gave me more time with him.
Good Morning!
A bit of a late start here... got lucky and added one more to the 3s in my effort to close the gap...

Good job, zzeeman!
Everyone except Kathleen has their Envirothon homework done. And I cleaned the stove.
Ah! Good job!!
I sorted pills and was about to drop out when the neighbor came over and asked me to show her how to use diatomaceous earth. Her grandson had ordered some for her, but it’s enough to take care of the entire complex for the next year.
Anyway, I told her not to let her cleaning girls sweep it up for a while and explained to her how it worked. She’s 90, but she’s pretty lucid and still gets around fairly well. Her daughter is very good about coming at least once a week to do her shopping as well as taking her laundry home to do it.
I still have to make the bed, but I think I’m just going to give it a lick and a promise because bedtime is coming soon. I wanted a nap this morning, and tomorrow is going to be busy, because on top of everything else, I have to write to Charlie. And pay bills. And ARGH!!
It’s been very hard to stay awake!
Count me with Kathleen as not having my Envirothon homework done either... I will get to it as soon as I can though...
You too!
👍🏻
Good. It’s going to be on the test, you know!
You cleaned the stove?
Isn’t that bad for the environment?
I’m glad your neighbor is lucid.
With my F-I-L it would have been:
So this is how you use it.
OK. Did you hear from your sister?
Not recently.
OK. What’s that stuff over there?
That’s the diatomaceous earth. This is how you use it.
OK. So, you didn’t hear from your sister?
No, Dad.
Well, I’m not going to worry about it. So, what’s that stuff over there?
And so on.
Oh, wow. I’m so sorry, ArGee. Sometimes, it’s tough to have old folks around.
The daughter seems to think I’m frail and can’t get around well, just because no one sees me. I had to reassure the neighbor that what was wrong with me was not A. catching, nor B. terminal.
She thinks I’m the best thing since sliced bread, bless her old heart.
Has Kathleen gotten her Envirothon homework done?
My stove doesn’t need to be cleaned because I don’t use it.
I hope there was nothing living on it that’s in trouble now, but I did use a lot of Fabuloso.
