EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

FS was going to go to a car show in Hot Springs, but when the rain came last night, he wasn’t excited. And then it was freezing cold this morning, so he opted to keep the VW home and take his Favorite Mom to lunch.
I love that car!! I could drive it.
Anyway, back from lunch early because PW is coming in tonight and he is miserable without her. No comment.
Anyway, I got to watch part of the Arkansas/LSU game while we were at lunch and realized it’s been a very long time since I watched any football, and even longer since I watched any college football!
Not long enough to add ESPN or any local channels, though. ;o]
2222?
Got any 2’s?
ERK!!!
Good job, you!!! I want the three’s, OK?
The 3s if you can seize them...
Dittos
LOL!! Of course! You’re almost as good at that numbers stealth thing as Tyson is about sharing his bed with you!
I’m glad you had a good time! We’re just home from a cookout after church, and I’m about ready to go to bed.
I’m up in the night but fading fast.
Sleep well and I’ll see you tomorrow!
The kitteh looks warn and says, “Nyah, nyah, nyah!”
Good morning. Did you have a good night? It’s for sure you had a busy day!
The Galileo says it’s 68° in here and the weather channel says its 25° outside. I’m so cold! The high today will be 46 Fs, then rain tomorrow. Why does it always have rain on Mondays?
I was up for most of the night last night. I kept thinking FS was going to text me, since we’d had such a pleasant day yesterday, and sure enough: Long about 2030 he did. I finally went to bed, then woke up after less than an hour like I’d had good sense. I didn’t. And then I had some strange dreams. The only one I recall is the one I was having just before the alarm rang. It indicates “deception in your inner circle.” And all I can think of is “not again!”
Oh, dear. If there’s deception in your inner circle, at least you won’t be surprised, I suppose.
I slept okay. Jake showed up on my pillow 5-ish, but he went away, and I stayed in bed until after 6:00. It’s sunny here and seems cold. 69 in the dining room - nice and fresh!
I decided I’m going to get out the china and silver and stuff for Thanksgiving for a change. I’m worth it! I don’t know if we have a real tablecloth, but if I don’t find one, I can go to Goodwill.
There seems to be a lot of that "deception in my inner circle" since I've been here, and it always goes to the same person.
I just turned the furnace on. It was so cold in here, the thermostat didn't even register. No burn smell so hopefully, yesterday was the worst of it.
Good Sabbath morning, Wordlers!
I’m getting tired of the Foursies, but that seems to be the most common finish for me.

Still, it’s better than X/6! (But I’ll take that, too, because it just means I’ve lost my edge.)
It’s been so long since I’ve had the silver-plate flatware out that I’m not sure where it is. Pantry? I don’t think I gave it away! We presently expect 12 people for Thanksgiving: no Bill or Elen, but yes Anoreth’s nice fiance and Sally’s boring boyfriend. (Still waiting for the disaster on that one, due to her history of bad taste ...)
That might mean plastic plates for Frank and Kathleen, at least. I’m not sure how many china settings I have.
I gave James and Abbie my Christmas dishes and the “gold” flatware to go with it, but I think they tossed it all. But that’s OK. At least I don’t have to take it back with me.
Twelve people? It’s been a while since you’ve had that many around your table, hasn’t it?
I thought “we” were going to Golden Corral for Thanksgiving, when the Other Folks thought it would be just the three of us, but now it seems James and Abbie are available for the first time ever, on Thanksgiving Day.
That’s going to be tricky for me, anyway because payday will still be a week away. I think I liked it better when I had a Hungry Man TV dinner. Less fuss and bother!
I turned the furnace on again this morning, and it’s having a hard time adjusting. The thermostat is set to 74° but it’s still not staying off between cycles longer than just a minute or two. It’s for sure I’ll get a space heater on payday, because my power bill will be astronomical at this rate!
It’s going to be a sunny day, so the sun will eventually warm the living room.
PWs plane out of Vegas was delayed two hours, so all her fuss about changing the shuttle to an earlier one resulted in nothing but getting a ride that wasn’t in the front seat. *sheesh* I tried to tell her, but what do I know? I’m just a stupid, forgetful old lady.
That lunch with your son was a nice surprise!
Having college football games on is a big part of Fall Saturdays...
Good Sunday Morning!
After all of the prep, I don’t think that it got below 34 degrees here overnight... well, better safe than sorry...
The four train is my most common ride, ‘Face, by a large degree...

We got a niece coming in from AZ today, and a bunch of family members coming over to catch up with her and her daughter... going to be a busy day!
Only six Herschel emails so far today.
Seven *sigh*
