EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

I hope the increased exercises are helping the sciatica.
FS has gone to a VW show in Hot Springs, so I have no idea when he’ll be back except tomorrow around noon, maybe. Any other time, he would have asked his favorite mom to go, but times have changed.
As I was writing to Charlie this morning, I remembered his birthday is next Thursday, so when I walk down to Kroger to get my prescription tomorrow, I’ll get a card for him. No gift card to put in it, though, if I had remembered it soon enough, I could get him a Kroger card so he could use it in the Smith’s store out there. My mind was on other things this month.
:o])
Oh, Nully. Shame on me for complaining about such a little thing.
Things are not going to be getting any easier, I fear, but my prayers are still with you all.
And just like that, it’s raining. *sigh*
Oy.
11 emails from Herschel Walker so far today...
I didn’t know you were such good friends!
We aren’t
Ah. I’ll bet he wants money.
Can’t give what you don’t have.
True.
It’s a balmy 50° out and headed for a low of 33. Brrr!! It’s 74° in here, but my knees are so cold I don’t think my legs are going to warm up at all.
Maybe I’ll have to turn the furnace on after all, but I sure don’t want the spike in the power bill!
Anyway, I’m going to take my pills, get something to eat and head for bed. I may or may not be back in the middle of my night, depending on whether or not someone just has to share some news with me. Or ask my opinion. Or something.
See ya in the morning, then! I hope you both have a good night, Nully and T-c!
I hope you have a good night with no interruptions! I’m about to start another round of my physical therapy exercises.
Aw!! Sweet floof! The Late Great PV acted as if Igor’s shoes were catnip and went absolutely bonkers when he played in them. It was hilarious.
Good morning.
Did you have a restful night?
I managed to get in 12 hours and wouldn’t have gotten up even then but for the fact that I was cold.
It’s 29° out, and I’m disinclined to move, much. It’s 74Fs in here and that’s just too cold for me. I was going to walk to Kroger this morning and get my prescription and a card for Charlie, but I may not do that. I’m not really ready to drag out my winter coat.
Not bad, thanks. I slept until almost 5:30. I have a full day of meeting and choir and more choir and stuff. James and his hair are going to Range Officer training and then to work.
It’s not cold here right now, and the rain has stopped.
There are probably lots of things I could do today, but at the moment, I don’t have any idea what they are.
I hope all your meetings and choir and stuff turn out well. And good luck to James and his hair at Range Officer training.
Maybe I’ll try to get the cuckoo clock fixed. A chain is off and I need to put it back on. Not as easy as it sounds, but it can be done. If I can hold off the pain long enough to stand and do it, since I have no place to sit where the light is good. But we’ll see.
After that, who knows?
Good morning Wordle Epople!
I had to work harder at this one than I wanted to but it all came out in the wash. So-to-speak.
Winter is here, it would seem, as we’re not going to get above 50° for a high all week. *shudder*
