EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

That’s a mighty cute little ginger & white.
I always think: What about the kids in Alaska? Do you hear them complaining?
Some days, my brain doesn’t function like it should, so a lot of things I say will be unintentionally funny. Or punny. Or both.
But it’s OK. I gave up trying to apologize for it years ago. I just roll with it, if the mood swings will let me!
Good morning! Congrats on those threes!
For some reason, I am so tired this morning. Maybe that’s why I got a five. 🤪

Why would you be tired? Was it that hard to wash the champagne out of your hair? LOL!
Good going on the Fiver, because we know it isn’t X/6!
I’ve been struggling to stay awake, but it’s a losing battle. I don’t want any more naps, either!
Yes, it is. And happy Monday!
Whiners won’t last 20 minutes in Alaska.
This is very true!!
Lot of good that does us.
The sun came out here. We dried the tarps, and then tent is coming along.
It would be better if they just went back to standard time and left it. But the politicians get what they want, because we haven’t learned to vote them out, yet.
It’s been a losing battle to stay awake today, so I suspect it won’t be long before I have to throw in the towel.
I’m sorry about the tarps and the tent. Hopefully, more sun will shine tomorrow.
The gear has been dried successfully. I agree: we should always have Standard Time. Here’s a hint to organizations: if your schedule doesn’t fit with what the sun is doing, change your schedule!
Kathleen and I have Cub Scouts tonight. I had a nap for an hour, so I won’t fall over until we get home. And no early PT tomorrow!
Well, I think places used to allow their time to go with the Sun until we invented the railroad. Then we had to standardize time and ... well ... here we are.
Well, unless Jesus comes in Glory before this time next year, we’ll be stuck with DST in perpetuity.
The older I get, the more I hate people messin’ with my life!
And now, I’m going to take my pills, get a bite to eat and head for the catacombs.
I’ll see all y’all in the morning! Unless I get a text that wakes me up and then I’ll write a short missive to you and then listen to an uplifting talk or two and try again.
I don’t know what time PW is flying out tomorrow, but she won’t arrive in St George until 2100. Probably all in a dither!
Thanks for the link!
OK, the gist of it is that the Senate has passed it and we are waiting on the House...
Woodrow Wilson, cue ominous music.
It will never pass the House and Senate and be signed, is my opinion.
Good luck with sleeping. I hope there are no texts!
No, no texts, but here I am...
When FS came by this morning, he said the movie for our Matinee Day is being sent here from “somewhere.” What? Amazon? eBay? Thriftbooks? ARRGH!
I guess it will be about a week before I know what it is. :o|
Thanks for deciphering it!
The next thing on the list is the COLA raise from SSA. It’s not really a COLA raise because my rent will go up by the same percentage. Everything has gone up, so it really isn’t a raise at all.
Well, I hope it turns out to be worth it!
