EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

Yeah, record-keeping, back in the day.
That’s a real horror story about the clock, Nully. You sure you don’t want to spring for a new one? That sounds like WAY too much trouble and I’d probably have chucked it against the wall a long time ago.
W000t! Any why not, since I gave you the perfect opportunity!!
But it was your turn, so good deal!
It’s got big red numbers, not blue. It stands on end so the time reads right without raising my head from the pillow.
I only go through this twice a year.
It nearly did meet the wall last night. I settled for percussive maintenance on the desk top. This time...
Good morning and a blessed Lord’s Day to all!
Reporting in from the home of the 2022 World Series Champion Houston Astros!
Coffee has soothed my hoarse voice and I have washed the champagne out of my hair. There was dancing in the streets last night.
I will now drive up Highway 6, music blasting all the way.
Way to go on the three, zzeeman! I also got a three to start the week.

Hi, we’re back from camp. It rained last night and this morning. Lots of gear to dry out, but it will have to wait for some sunshine!
What a cute little kitteh!
Congratulations!
Good morning! How are you? I think it’s been a while!
I’ve been super busy! We’re building a house in Idaho so I’ve been doing a lot of back and forth between Idaho and Arizona. Can’t wait to get out of this dust.
Thanks!

Congratulations on the win! It sounds as if the celebration was ¡estupendo! I’m so happy for you!
Yeah, I’m with you and the music blasting all the way. It’s been so long since I had a car with a working radio, I’ve forgotten what road trips are like! Have fun and please watch out for the other guy as you’re driving!
Good job on the Triplet, too!
Welcome home! Glad you made it safely. I hope it was fun, in spite of the rain.
Iknowhuh?
I love the little ones!
It was fun. The worst of the rain was last night and early morning. We have gear that can’t be dried until the sun comes out for a few hours. Maybe tomorrow.
We’re getting rain again tomorrow, and then another week of gray skies.
I’m going to rest up for a bit while I finish a show I was watching yesterday before the power went out (Pembrokeshire Murders) and then I’ll get the laundry ready for tomorrow morning.
Your card came Friday, so that was good. I enjoyed the letter and will try to get a letter written tomorrow. It’s way past time, I know.
FS and PW were not in church today. He was out with his chain saw helping the family who lost most of their maple tree in the storm Friday night, and his back was making him very sorry today. I missed him.
But he should be by here tomorrow, anyway, and then on Wednesday, he’ll take me to the pain clinic.
I hope he feels better soon. I’m feeling a bit dotty today, probably from not getting breakfast before I was dizzy. I have to stay awake a little longer, though.
Thanks. I’m sure it’s just muscle strain from wielding the chain saw. Unusual movements for a handyman who doesn’t ordinarily do that kind of thing. His favorite remodeling job is bathrooms, believe it or not. He gets animated when he talks about doing them.
I had the wobblies almost until I got to church, and I still haven’t figured out why. So I empathize!
January, we go to church at 0900 again, so that will be a relief to me. It’s been really hard to go to church and then sort clothes before going to bed. The hour’s wait for the water to heat up has been a big factor in how Sunday’s treat me, but with church so late, it’s a real struggle to try and adjust.
My sunglasses broke today, so I’ve had to add a new pair to my grocery list. If it ain’t one darn thing....
I have to go to bed soon but not just yet.
