EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

I think proposing things that make sense can get you on a watch list in NYC.
W00t!
I think that’s a perfect story.

What a great cat to start a great Caturday!
Optimism, that’s the key!
Sorry, I got a late start this morning. PW has decided to invite “everyone” for dinner tomorrow, and I was planning a quiet Sunday at home. Two-thirty in the afternoon is too late for me to do anything outside my humble apartment. The text conversation started a little after 1900 and lasted until almost 2100, so after the first one (group text) I just got up and came out here. I had been sleeping so well.
Also, FS sent me a text asking if I wanted to go to Walmart with them. After the last two times? I don’t think that’s going to happen. So he’s coming over this morning “to talk” to me. Whatever that means. I’m prepared for the worst!
It will be a good day regardless!
Good Wordle morning, Ganag!
My brems aren’t working all that well. I was beginning to think I was headed X/6 today.

Tomorrow is another day and another stab at it, so all is not lost. At least until he runs out of words.
I hope being prepared for the worst means the worst won’t happen. You don’t have to get together with “everyone” if you don’t want to!
I have a meeting this morning at 10:00, and then after that I’ll figure something out. It’s drizzly, and the cats are unhappy.
Good Morning!
I was lucky to get a “Phew” thus avoiding the dreaded X/6 today...

Good morning. Congratulations on your last-minute success!
“All the cat” are needed! Thanks!!
I don’t know what to think, any more. I feel like I’m back in Henderson/Las Vegas, afraid to function. I don’t like that feeling. I’m going to tell him about it today. I hope. I told them last night that it would depend on how I feel but thanked them.
There seems to be a fad that is sweeping the texting crowd (everyone) of not bothering to give a personal answer but copying a text and then typing, “Liked”. Rude and impersonal. I got that from PW after I sent my text. But she sure spent time with others.
It’s a toasty 60+ degrees out, and I have the door open a little. OK...I just checked — it’s open a lot. The breeze is just enough for the WD-40d hinges to function silently and smoothly.
Mom has finally gone back to bed.

Well, that was a “Phew!” moment, indeed! But you got past it, so good on ya!
We’re supposed to have rain today, for most of the day but for now, it’s just gloomy. Coming up from Tejas, evidently, from the looks of the radar screen.
No bacon and no beans but I will have a pot roast in the oven. Well, probably not until Monday, because it will actually be in the crock pot.
I’m going to try the slow-cooker “pot roast dinner” from Walmart. Slow cooking it seems to be the only way to make their meat tender enough to eat. Including chicken. So I’m going to see how this works out. I love roast beast sammiges!
Yup, probably the rain that passed through here yesterday... supposed to be gloomy and cloudy here all day...
Aha, something I know! When a person with an iPhone “likes” (or “loves” or “laughs at” a text from a person with a different brand of phone, the person with the different brand gets a text showing that the recipient “liked” what you said.
So either PW has gotten a iPhone, or she just started using the “like” function for texts. I think of it as confirmation that the person read the text.
I didn’t know why I was getting those messages until I read about it in the Wall Street Journal ;-).
