EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

You see the shape you were referring to a lot in NYC.
But not in buildings. More in people’s hands.
A double-hump day for you.
w00t!
I hate it when I post my “good morning” and forget to copy people.
Busy morning! :)
w00t!
That’s right, Friday is the rainy one...
🤣
Exactly so! It starts the day off right! And ends it well, too.
I’ve noticed that when I wake up and can’t get back to sleep, setting it to the “harvest moon” light seems to help me get tired enough to go back to bed sooner. No other light, just that one.
OCD is rampant! LOL!!
Good job!!
I’m ready for the desert again. I was totally unprepared for the cold winter that we had last year, and this winter is supposed to be colder still. Brr-r-r-r!
W00t!! Good job!
A friend took me to breakfast this morning, and then to Dollar Tree and then to Kroger.
Dollar Tree was fine, but everything has gone up a quarter, and that’s not surprising. Still, stuff is a good buy there.
Next was Kroger, and my favorite cracker was on sale so I knew what my bill was going to be plus whatever the candy bar cost. Imagine my surprise when I was told it was $22+!! What??
When I got back out to the car where my friend was waiting I asked her to go over the receipt and tell me what she found. A pack of Marlboro at the top of the receipt! WHAT??? Sure enough. I didn’t see it because I didn’t have my readers on.
The guy ahead of me had gotten cigarettes and evidently didn’t have enough for as many packs as he wanted, but it didn’t clear completely off the register and the cashier didn’t catch it. So I had to go back in and get it squared away.
Even my boring days have little surprises!
Good thing that you checked..... did that add almost $10 to the bill?
Oy, what a fuddle. I’m glad it got sorted out.
I had physical therapy and then my call with Steve. He and his wife have both had Covid but are improving. They got the antibody infusions.
I’m taking some youth to the library in a few minutes. I got the van back with the Clank fixed, finally.
I don’t suffer from OCD. I’m more - wow, the tree leaves look really nice in this sun. I don’t think I recognize that dog out there. Why would an ambulance be coming into this complex? What were we talking about again?
I’m sure the candy bar was $20. Those have been going up like a rocket.
(I’m partial to Snickers, myself, when I can afford them any more.)
So it clanks correctly now? Or did you have it totally removed?
It added exactly $8 to the bill. I got it back in cash because I can always use it for laundry quarters!
Covid again? Don’t we have “flu” any more or has it suddenly become Covid, even though most flus are of a corona virus?
I’m glad Steve and his wife are better!
And it’s great that you have the van back with no Clank!!
That candy bar was a lot more that I expected it to be! Over twice what it was the last time I bought it, so I’m thinking it will be twice as long before I buy it again. Maybe by then the price of the candy bar and the cost of living will have leveled out.
The prices of most everything are insane lately...
