EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

I had to stare at that one a long time to see it.
If you want to know how crippled a child is, you just say, “Did anyone see the $20 I dropped on the floor?”
And if I haven’t said it before, another birthday or Christmas or even Easter or Hannukah card is always welcome because most of them have notes or actual letters in them, so they qualify as mail. :o])
I’ve been looking for another robe like the red-plaid lounger that is finally beginning to wear thin after twelve years and found the same kind on Amazon. But it will have to wait until payday because otherwise it would put me into overdraft. I don’t want to be there. I opted out for “overdraft protection” because it’s asking for fiscal trouble.
My online account says I have it, but I don’t believe it and won’t try it.
Heh, good one. I’m pretty irritated this afternoon, since he decided he wouldn’t go to the county water board’s job fair, since the jobs weren’t exactly what he’s looking for. I pointed out that there was a less than zero chance of his finding out something worthwhile, and the value of his other options is zero, but all he did was go upstairs to lie in his bed.
He’s got a good thing going, so why should he go to a job fair where he might actually find Owrk, when he could live for free in mom’s attic?
It sounds like he needs an alternative given to him: Find a job or go camp out at the homeless shelter. Did his therapist ever give him a clean bill of health to go back to work?
Doesn’t sound like he wants to do anything much, these days. I think I’d be more than “pretty irritated” were I you!
He hasn’t heard anything from the specialist he was seeing. I’ll have to ask next time I see him.
As long as he’s been laid up with his back, you might want to suggest he see a doctor. He may be in a depression. It needs to be properly diagnosed, and from that point various things can be done (with the exception of drugs of any kind) to help him gain back his desire to do things.
Finding a job can often be a “miracle cure.”
I’m sure I’ll be back later, but for now, I’m going to take my pills. I’ve got chills again, which means I need to start keeping the log once more. Meantime, I’ll pretend like I’m resting!
Have a good evening and if I’m not back here later, I’ll see you in the morning!
I’m going to have to go over to the mechanic shop and sit there looking eager if they don’t call in the next few minutes.
Very amusing.
And for extra fun, sulphur-crested cockatoos breaking into the trash bins:

Haha!
Kitteh wants to know where the cockatoos learned how to do that.
Good morning. Did you sleep well?
It’s 40° out, and though it will be sunny today, it will be gloomy and rainy for the next week. Again. I’m resisting turning on the furnace, but I know it will happen before too much longer.
Today is “Write to Charlie” day. He never writes back, and only calls when someone we both knew passes away, so I don’t have a clue as to how he’s doing. His birthday is next month, too.
I put three coats of Mod Podge on the tile, and it really looks pretty. Now I just have to put the felt on the back. It’s not sold in squares, but stupid rectangles. Or by the yard.
Felt is sold in rectangles here, too. The cockatoos are really smart.
I slept tolerably. Jake came by to cuddle. It’s 66 in here this morning, and I’m fine with it. I’ll resist turning on the furnace to the last ditch!
I had a friend who really liked cockatoos and even had two of them, but they’re too large a bird for me.
The Galileo says its 74° in here, but two days ago it was 70. Yesterday afternoon it was 72.
I didn’t want to get up this morning. I was having strange dreams, but with CFIDS, there are lots of vivid dreams but not many can be recalled once I wake up. I was warm in bed, but the mattress pad had shut off so I would have awakened from the cold before too much longer, anyway.
So the bathroom is warming up and I’m wishing I had a space heater for under my desk. It would do wonders at keeping my legs warm.
Good morning!
Another Foursie. I’ve had more of them than anything else, them being in the lead with 75.

Good morning. Happy Friday!
Technically, it was back below freezing again this morning. But at least there’s no rain in the foreguess for a while. So we keep on truckin’.
I got a “phew” today.

Good job!
I don’t know if there were any other options with those 2 unknowns. But I’m glad I made it.
